Hey fellow Summoners in the world of Praetoria, it's a Thursday today so it's due time to make a new Splinterlands blog post to participate in the challenges the team provides to hopefully earn something extra to build my deck with, it's like putting a kid in the candy store, there's so much cool stuff to buy for the game - I haven't completed my Silver level modern deck yet... in fact, it's still primarily Rebellion with some awesome Conclave Arcana cards, for now I'm skipping the Archons for CA simply because my Rebellion Archons are awesome and having even more of them makes it too complicated for me what to choose. ๐
My latest addition to my deck I just bought today is Calabash Sage, a nice back line defender and now - a tank healer, I like it!
My Thursdays have changed quite a bit since I started cycling for sports, before I would spend all morning in front of my PC, doing Splinterlands related things, mostly from around 6 AM to 10 or 11 AM but now in the morning when I made breakfast and lunch for the kids, I go and prepare for my next training trip and go out between 8 and 9 AM for 2 hours, just this morning I rode 43 kilometers in about 1 hour 40 minutes - at some points our daily routines just change and I think it's nice for a change, I mean it's not that I don't enjoy Splinterlands anymore, on the contrary, it's still the best game our there in my opinion!
The two teams I'm using the most are Elias with a flank unit which protects Commander Slade, some magic guys and Venka in the back and Cryptic, with mostly Slade up front, Daigendark Hunter with Silence in the back to protect against magic, and again some magic guys with Venka is the middle... these are my two go-to teams in most mid to high mana battles since I don't own Lorkus or Tofu and today I want to share a nice battle I had last week, against another water team but with a whole other strategy.
Splinterlands Social Media Challenge
This weeks Challenge is the same as last weeks:
๐ฅ Share Your Most Remarkable Splinterlands Moments: Do you possess a battle of epic proportions that deserves to be seen by all? Have you crafted something extraordinary within the Splinterlands realm? Maybe you've got profound thoughts, insights, or strategies related to stats, cards, abilities, or gameplay that are waiting to be shared? We want it all, and we want it to be nothing short of AMAZING!
To find out how you can participate in this challenge yourself, check out the Splinterlands post here.
Especially when you're a new(er) player, I really recommend participating because this way you can basically fund your deck for free, just don't extract everything you earn - leave the Hive Power in your account to up vote other people with!
So, without further ado, let's get going!
The battle I have saved for this post is a 60 mana Briar Patch / What doesn't kill you / Target Practice battle in the Modern League with only the Water, Fire and Dragons splinters available. With Briar Patch as well as Target Practice, the emphasis on non melee units will be big, so it's important to put a big unit in the snipe position. Commander Slade is perfect for this, with its Deflect ability the Thorns doesn't harm him and the enrage boosts his attack and speed greatly.
