Hey everyone! After my big yearly Splinterlands break, being abroad on holiday with my family and about a week taking care of the backlog in house chores an other daily life commitments plus back to sporting, I can finally say I'm back in to my usual habit, grinding Splinterlands and now also, making my next post.
I had a nice welcome back things as well, my internet connection was horrible in France but I could see that LEO was pumping hard, not being on my PC I couldn't do anything with it but before I left, I did unstake everything I had, I'm not sure why maybe it was just a gut feeling but when I got back, I could sell just over $100 in LEO tokens to put in to my favorite game, so I scouted the market, and put out some bid buys with some of them already filled!
The card I am hoping the most it gets filled soon is Taye Loreswift, at Silver level she brings the Inspire ability, which is pretty awesome for only 3 mana but she's not cheap so I'm hoping, with a little patience to buy her with a little discount...

I had planned to use this battle for this weeks Social Media Challenge, until I realized the use of my tactic was really a breakthrough, I was teamed up again a higher level player with one of the best Archons in the game, Lorkus, more on that later!
Since yesterday I am back to grinding my Splinterlands battles but I didn't have time to make a post until now, but yesterday I had a very fun battle, I am playing in Modern at Silver level with Rebellion Archons (I keep saying Summoners, old habits die hard I suppose) and the use of the Legendary Tactic Archons is a lot of fun, the one I'm using the most is Elias but I also have Cryptic and Risqruel in my deck to surprise my opponents with nasty tactics and not get too predictable what I am going to play.
The TAUNT ability, from defensive to offensive.
The taunt ability has always been a great tool for making sure those glass cannons in our decks can survive long enough to do serious harm, the one I have been using the most is Mycelic Slipspawn, but also Shield Bearer and Iziar comes right up in my mind, and Wave Brood!
But with a Archon that has taunt as a tactic, we can give it to ANY unit on the battlefield!
When I see other players use Risqruel, they usually go for the Impede / True Strike tactic or IF they use the taunt, they choose a unit on their own team... I like to use taunt on my opponents team! 😁 granted: there is a downside to this: It also gives redemption but even then, it's a valid weapon not used by many players.
Another way I use it is in the Ferocity ruleset so it kills a enemy unit of my choosing with double the damage... nasty but very effective! 😁
Turning the tide
The battle I want to share for this post is a battle against a Gold level deck, me having a Silver level deck already puts me on a disadvantage, this player also had some really nice cards to bring to the battlefield, with the use of the Archon Tactic, to my surprise I changed the outcome of the battle I would've otherwise surely lost.
This battle happened yesterday, it's a 36 mana Modern League, Explosive Weaponry / Blood and Sunder / Equalizer battle with only the Fire, Earth and Life splinters open to be chosen from, because it's a mid range mana battle and I wanted to have a unit with Deflection Shield, both Fire and Earth have those units in my deck so the choice was easy - Risqruel Drath!
