Hive has been a dwelling place since I was introduced to it. It is a platform I visit on a daily basis. Unlike other social media and web2 platforms that are controlled by individuals or organizations, Hive is a web3 blockchain that is decentralized.
A decentralized blockchain is a type of digital system that is not controlled by a single person, company, or government, but rather shared across many computers called nodes all over the world.
While other platforms decide what you earn and can block or log you out at any time, Hive, on the other hand, gives you the opportunity to take charge of your own assets. Hive allows users to earn by posting articles, videos, or pictures, commenting and engaging with others, and upvoting good content.
One sweet thing about Hive is that if you write a blog post, share music in communities like Vibes or Afritune, or post educational content, you get rewarded with Hive tokens. Unlike other web2 social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter (X), where the community earns from your activity and decides how you use their platform, Hive empowers you to benefit directly from your efforts. On centralized platforms, you can write and post for years without any earnings, but on Hive, you start earning from the very first day you begin posting. And on Hive, I own my content, no one can delete it.
Hive has taught me a lot, including consistency, understanding other people’s viewpoints, thinking critically, and using photos to tell stories. Here, I get to write and learn daily, which helps me as a teacher to expand my scope.

Even after being monetized as a content creator, you cannot easily access your earnings. Whereas on Hive, once your content pays out after seven days, you can easily withdraw your funds. I am confident that soon, we will all be glad we joined Hive, because the tokens in Hive, such as HBD, will increase in value over time, just like other cryptocurrencies.
