I WAS NOT WRONG BUT I THOUGHT I WAS.
In life we do things at times and maybe we think it is the right way to go or the right thing to do and at the end of the day we find out it was totally wrong, and on the other hand we sometimes do things or take actions that we think are wrong but they turn out to be the right thing, at times these actions come out of ignorance and at times they are deliberate acts and at other times we are influenced by others, my own case was in my secondary school.
Back in high school I had a very good mathematics teacher, he was good and so committed towards his work and did well to push all of us to know mathematics, but you know students and maths na, nobody really loved that subject, people like us were just there trying to follow up if we could pick some points because I had no choice. One day he started teaching us the topic surd and funny enough this was one maths topic that I never liked, I do not know why, the thing is that I would understand the first aspect which was the introductory aspect of surd but once they started going deep I got lost, I tried my best to follow up and everything was just going fine.
After two consecutive classes he gave us an assignment to solve a particular problem on the topic, when I got home that day I opened all the maths textbooks that I had and also my key points, I checked his examples and followed them up, I was able to solve the first question and I was a bit sure that it was correct, when I got to the second question I was confused, I solved something but I was not sure if I was doing the right or wrong thing.
The following morning I went to school and also checked what others were doing, behold I saw different versions of the problems being solved, since I was not sure of what I was doing I quickly cancelled the number two question that I solved and copied my friend’s own, we happily submitted it. When the books were returned my brothers and sisters what I copied was wrong, when the teacher came to make corrections I noticed that what I cancelled was actually correct, it was painful no doubt but I learnt my lessons.
I learnt how to stick to my decision or what I did, I learnt how to stand my ground and the truth is that it has been helping.
