I know different people have different things that mean a lot to them, and they do or observe it regularly for various reasons and it works for them, and it could be tagged rituals or tradition. But in this part of the world, whenever rituals is mentioned, people's mind quickly tilt to one fetish belief or thing. In the context of this writing, tradition here could be seen as a lifestyle that is practiced consistently for a particular purpose.
Personally, there is this tradition that I practice every week, and that is the means I use in managing my stress. I know people have different ways of managing their own stress, but for me, finding a day in a week to sit out and listen to good and cool live band music is what I do to manage my stress, and I see it as my weekly tradition. It helps me manage my stress and prepares my mind for the upcoming week, this is because I mostly do the sit out on Sunday evening. This practice has gone on for years, and it has always been very helpful to me.
At times people who see me sit out every Sunday think I am always sitting out there to drink, but the truth is, there are some Sundays that I don't drink anything while sitting out, because my main aim is listening to that music, and that alone calms me and makes me feel good and relaxed. So that is my weekly tradition, and it is just my way of managing stress, and it has been working perfectly well for me.
One other thing that I do every week, especially in the evening, is taking a long walk around my street. Since I am not consistent with morning exercise, I take out time to stroll some evenings, and that also helps relieve stress and improve my health. Walking in the evening gives me time to reflect on my day, observe nature, and clear my thoughts, and by the time I return home I feel lighter, more energized, and refreshed. Both the live band music and the evening walk have become part of my lifestyle, and they keep me balanced in both body and mind.
