Boh Usen Cake
Boh usen is a popular name for this cake, boh husen itself is a name that comes from our local language, Aceh. The name of this cake is inspired by the name of a tree called usen, which has a fruit shaped like a crescent moon, so this cake is made in the shape of a crescent moon.  The history of this cake is not only about the name, but has cultural values that are still attached to it today. The diversity of traditions in every moment makes this cake often made during certain events. Such as holiday celebrations or celebrating the death of your father for 30 days. This cake became a mandatory cake as a complement to other cakes that I made as "rampoe cake" to take home to guests who came to visit.  Now because of this, my mother and I are quite enthusiastic about preparing this cake at home. We prepared it together because this cake requires special precision and patience, after all I was making it for the first time so my mother helped prepare the recipe.

Look at the result, it is very beautiful, after cooking this cake, it is more enjoyable to enjoy but cold is no problem, it is also very delicious. This cake is crispy outside and sweet inside the texture inside is so soft with a very perfect blend of ingredients. The coconut is very savory, but I think it's too sweet for my taste, I have to reduce the sugar a little tomorrow. My mom said because it's made for guests so we shouldn't overdo the sugar portion.

I'm so happy that I can make this traditional cake at home, we usually tempah this cake with our neighbors here. But this time I'm really determined to make it myself, I'm sure Dad is very happy if I do this.
