Festividades San Francisco de Asis/Saint Francis of Assisi Festivities

 Hola ,comunidad Hive! Espero estén muy bien, por este lado de la isla estamos al máximo. El día 03 de octubre en nuestro hermoso y maravilloso pueblo de Boca del Río , Municipio Península de Macanao, isla de Margarita.Celebramos las Festividades de nuestro Santo Patrono “San Francisco de Asis”.  Comienzan las Festividades de nuestro Santo Patrono donde la iglesia se viste de gala, vestida con una hermosa mantelería hecha por manos de mujeres trabajadoras y extraordinarias donde cada año sus manos le dan ese toque mágico para que luzca de maravilla, también adornar al santo con flores hermosas y lo hacen con todo su cariño y bondad desde sus corazones y así dar inicio a la víspera en su Honor.    Al mismo tiempo en la plaza Bolívar de la comunidad se celebra la sesión solemne en honor a “San Francisco de Asís”, dirigida por el Alcalde y su comitiva donde se invitan personajes de la localidad para sus reconocimientos, unos de ellos son esos personajes que tienen años viviendo en la península y son oriundos de otros estados y fueron acogidos por este hermoso pueblo, han trabajado tanto por ellos que les dan su reconocimiento como hijos adoptivos .  Al finalizar se disponen a embellecer e iluminar nuestro cielo con sus colores más hermosos como son los fuegos artificiales los más esperados de la noche tanto por los niños, jóvenes, adultos y adultos mayores, las calles se congestionan con la cantidad de vendedores como: cotuferos,empanaderos , vende raspados y lo que no puede faltar los juegos de azar , los carritos de perro calientes. Todo se celebra con vista al mar en la calle principal del pueblo , todo se hace cerca de la iglesia mayor. ¿Sabes por qué decimos iglesia mayor?.Porque tenemos la fortuna de contar con dos iglesias, está que les nombro es la más antigua y más pequeña y acogedora, igual se celebran las misas a las 7 de la mañana ,se hacen velatorios, rosarios de los fallecidos.Y en vista que la población creció se quedó pequeña ,por eso se construyó una segunda iglesia para más capacidad de personas de feligreses. ahora comienza como decimos todos “la pachanga” con lo que le encanta al pueblo para salir de su zona de confort y dejar su estrés por un buen rato ,aquí vamos con las agrupaciones de la noche, baile popular ; Sonora show, pingüinos del vallenato y los guaracheros hasta que el cuerpo aguante 😂💃🕺. On October 3, in our beautiful and wonderful town of Boca del Río, Municipality of Península de Macanao, Margarita Island, we celebrated the festivities of our patron saint, “San Francisco de Asis.”  The festivities of our patron saint begin with the church decked out in its finery, adorned with beautiful tablecloths made by the hands of hard-working and extraordinary women who, every year, give it that magical touch to make it look wonderful. They also decorate the saint with beautiful flowers, doing so with all the love and kindness in their hearts, thus beginning the eve in his honor.    At the same time, in the community's Bolívar Square, a solemn session is held in honor of “Saint Francis of Assisi,” led by the mayor and his entourage, where local figures are invited for recognition. Some of them are people who have been living on the peninsula for years and are originally from other states but were welcomed by this beautiful town. They have worked so hard for them that they are recognized as adopted children.  At the end, they prepare to beautify and illuminate our sky with their most beautiful colors, such as fireworks, which are the most anticipated part of the night for children, young people, adults, and seniors. The streets are congested with vendors selling cotufes, empanadas, shaved ice, and, of course, games of chance and hot dogs. Everything is celebrated with a view of the sea on the main street of the town, all near the main church. Do you know why we say main church? Because we are fortunate to have two churches. The one I am referring to is the oldest, smallest, and most welcoming. Masses are still celebrated there at 7 a.m., and wakes and rosaries for the deceased are held there. As the population grew, it became too small, so a second church was built to accommodate more parishioners. Now begins what we all call “la pachanga,” which the town loves because it allows them to leave their comfort zone and leave their stress behind for a while. Here we go with the nighttime groups, popular dancing, Sonora show, pingüinos del vallenato, and los guaracheros until our bodies can't take it anymore 😂💃🕺.
