Just as our personalities are different, we all have different things that works for us. Diverse things keep us entertained. What I am perceive as entertainment may be a punishment to another person. I think one of the most interesting thing about the world we live in is our diverse perspectives on different topics. What I may perceive as logic may be the most stupid thing you have ever heard or seen. However, that probably does not mean that my perception is stupid and has no logic to it. Books are beautiful things that some people see as entertaining. However, to some people, reading a book can be a whole lot of work. Its not that they can't read the book, but then problem is that they can not give their full attention to the book they are reading which in turn makes it quite hard to assimilate. When we contextualize reading, some people look for a back exit probably because they don't really like reading. For some people, they may like to read, but they don't have enough time to sit at a place and read something. Its quite interesting though. When i was still in school, I met different persons. I met those that love reading, I met those that read only when its time for exams, I saw those that read their books 1 day to exams, and I also met those that don't read at all but pass their exams by asking other people for answers in the exams hall. To me, reading is an important thing, Its not just about reading books per se, but its about helping the brain remain active. I don't really like reading. I would not say i'm a heavy or light ready. I only read things that could help me, most especially when the book is about self development, investment strategies and psychology. This post is an entry for hive learners prompt, A reading habit. In this prompt, I would talk about my reading habit. I would talk about how often I read books, what books I read, whether or not I enjoy the books I read and the next time I plan to read another book. I actually love reading books, but I don't read very frequently because of a few things I have in my schedule. When I start reading a book, I always become so into the book that I forget my surrounding. I would make a mental picture of the book's content, and then try to view myself living in the book. This is the major reason why I try to regulate when to read a book. ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/nwothini335/23tknMQaNquKgsUZYkhsKahfJVSt5P5rjNymuH2qtNg1EwrKouKRTiDhYwj1TnTSXCiYs.png) [img src](https://unsplash.com/photos/books-are-arranged-on-a-shelf-7PaII7ARrxE)
I have read quite a few books - 48 laws of power, cash flow quadrant, Rich dad poor dad, I listened to a podcast titled The subtle art of not giving a f*ck, and a few other psychological books. My love for psychology knows no bound. I really love to understand human behavior, human emotions and its triggers as well as its cooling factors. There are lots of things I love about psychology but the problem is that I hardly socialize. The only time I could socialize aside when I want to get something, is when I'm testing out something I learnt from a psychological theory. I love reading psychological theories. I don't just grab a book and start reading out of the blue. It will be difficult to understand the book if I read like that. Instead, I plan and schedule my reading. Before I delve into the book, I always try to get enough rest and sleep to free my mind and ease my muscles. I love reading with water and in a very silent environment. If possible, I would love to hear my heartbeat in the environment I'm reading in. This is to aid total concentration. For now, I don't know what book I will like to read next. There are quite a lot of books that I have not read and I have not be opportune to be chanced to make a choice of what book to read next. Thank you for reading
