CNF: Sometimes Family Dramas Are Unavoidable.

Growing up in a family of 7 was one that came with a lot of drama, a lot of arguments, and a lot of conflicts, to the point of thinking the drama and conflicts would cause us to hate each other, but it's funny how it brought us closer and strengthened our bond as a family. The truth is that some of these dramas are avoidable, but they still choose to make them happen. Trust me, if everyone in my family was like me, then a lot of family dramas could have been avoided, but sometimes it feels like some of our family members just enjoy the drama. Sometimes I look at my siblings when the family drama is unfolding, and the look on their faces gets me convinced that they are enjoying it; if not, they would not want to make mountains out of mere hills at every given opportunity. Sometimes a problem that could have been resolved without even too many words is resolved with shouting and pointing fingers at each other and sometimes even almost to the point of fighting with each other over something not worth it. Sometimes the family drama is enjoyable, especially when you are not involved, and sometimes it is very annoying, especially when you feel the whole drama was unnecessary and could have been resolved without so much drama. Sometimes it feels like without the drama and the feud, the house becomes really boring, and the drama is the only thing that brings the house back to life. Growing up we all had house chores we were assigned to carry out daily to keep the house running smoothly, but some of my siblings were lazy and would always try to dodge theirs at every given opportunity and allow somebody else to do it for them, and in the end, who they want to do it for them ends up not wanting to do it, and then it becomes a problem, and it erupts like a volcano. We had a set rule that whoever was supposed to do the dishes for the day and fails to do so must still do it before the next person takes over. "Johnson, why are there so many plates in the sink? Does this mean you did not do the dishes yesterday?" My mom asked, standing by the kitchen door. ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZtAZKTvECnvS39FhFGte3eDmmu8MP9x7N9we2tDr9wpX/1761040761434.jpg) [Source](https://unsplash.com/photos/couple-arguing-in-a-kitchen-LbbkR2kHdKk) "Here comes the drama." I said to myself as I relax to enjoy the argument that follows. "I did the dishes yesterday, Mom." Johnson responded, "It is David's turn today." Johnson added as he walked towards the kitchen. "Who saw you when you were doing the dishes?" David shouted from the balcony as he rushed into the house to defend himself. "So because no one saw me, does that mean I did not do the dishes yesterday?" Johnson asked, making a pity face. "There is no way you can do dishes in this house and no one will see you; it is not possible." David said as he walked to the sink, turning all the plates to look inside. "All I know is that I did the dishes, and I am not going to do another one for you today if that is your plan." Johnson said with a tone. "If you did the dishes, why are all these plates the ones we used yesterday?" David asked with a tone, too, showing him the plates. "That is because I did not see them when I was doing the dishes." Johnson responded with a voice out the roof. "There is no way you will miss this many plates; this can only mean one thing." David said, raising his voice too, walking towards Johnson. "Are you trying to say I did not do the dishes?" Johnson asked. "Exactly my point; if you did, you would not have gotten it so fast." David said, pointing at Johnson. My mom saw that things were about to get out of hand, and she had to step in, and that brought the family feud and drama to an end. "Okay, okay, let's bring all this drama to an end. There are plenty of plates from yesterday in the sink, and that can only mean one thing." Mom was still talking when Johnson cut in. "Mom, are you also trying to say I did not do the dishes yesterday?" Johnson asked. "Yes, that is exactly what I am trying to say. Nobody saw you do the dishes, and looking at the sink, all the plates from yesterday are still there unwashed, and there is no way you can miss that many plates. The rule stands." "My mom said," as she walked away. ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmVkC1nEv26vBBCwYwK6Xq6mWTJgiW6kmXb4f5CYoVXV1S/1761040761303.jpg) [Source](https://unsplash.com/photos/a-black-and-white-photo-of-a-woman-and-two-children-in-a-kitchen-T2cWYSHyG88) "This judgement is unfair, though." Johnson grumbled as he walked towards the sink to do the dishes.
