## Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog. One thing we as humans need to handle carefully and be aware of is what we ingest, eat, or swallow. We are a product of what we eat; what we eat contributes to at least 60% of how healthy we end up being or how sick we end up feeling. Food safety is important no matter how much so many people try to undermine it. If food is not handled properly from production to storage and from storage to cooking or eating, it does more harm than good, and we all know that in the right sense it is supposed to be the opposite; food is supposed to do good to the body and not harm it.

Food safety in layman's terms has to do with the proper handling of food material or food products from production down till consumption; food materials are handled properly to prevent spoilage as well as prevent food poisoning. Along the line of food movement, if food is mishandled, it can result in food poisoning, as we end up eating or swallowing substances that are harmful to the body.
Many people make the mistake of thinking food safety starts or only happens when cooking, but that is wrong; food safety is supposed to start from production down till consumption. If food is wrongly handled during production, even if food safety is practiced during consumption, it does not make it safe; the entire process of the food we eat requires that food safety be practiced.
One time we bought beans that had excess preservatives added to help keep them safe and prevent spoilage no matter how long they were kept in storage, but whenever we cooked the beans, it tasted like kerosene was added to the beans. The first time it was noticed, we had to dispose of everything, thinking maybe one of my cousins actually added kerosene, but it was cooked again, and this time by my aunt herself, but the same thing was noticed, and we had to return the beans to the seller. He confirmed that all who bought beans from that particular bag returned the beans and had the same complaint, and also how those who ate the beans like that ended up having running stomachs, and he confirmed it was excessive preservative that caused all of that, both the bad taste and the running stomach.

That was proof that the lack of handling food properly at any point, whether during production, storage, or at the point of consumption, can actually affect our health as well as affect the quality of food. For me, I will say food safety is the proper handling of food from producer down to the final consumer, food handled the right way to make sure they are not injurious to health.
Food safety is another way to stay healthy.
