## Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. With each passing day our world continues to change; what we used to know is slowly becoming a thing of the past. Once upon a time we had a world where people pursued a profession all because they had passion for it and not because of what the profession had to offer, but over time things have changed, and we now have a completely different world, one where people don't follow passion anymore; instead, they go where the money is. 80%-90% of people are pursuing a particular profession not because they love it or have passion for it but because of the pay attached.

Growing up we had a guy in the neighborhood who we all looked up to and brought our assignments to, and he never once got tired of having us bring all of our assignments to him. He did not only do them for us but tried as much as he could to break them down to the point where we had no other choice but to understand the topic. Before he came around, I was always scared of mathematics, but he changed the narrative, and when asked, he said he had a passion for teaching, and despite scoring so high in JAMB, he still chose to go to a college of education just so he could become a teacher and pursue his passion.
Today even people who know how to teach and break things down to a layman's understanding avoid the teaching profession because the pay is not juicy or attractive. This is why we have many fake pastors today; many called themselves because they saw the job of running a ministry or a church as a way to milk the members and make money for themselves. In those days only people with passion went for jobs like being a pastor, but today we have people flooding to become one, and only 10% have passion or a calling to be a pastor; the rest just want to make money.
Today everything feels fake because people no longer follow or pursue passion; instead, they follow the money. They go where the money is, forgetting that every line of work can get really frustrating, and at that point, what keeps you going is your passion for the profession, which is why we have many people showing a lackadaisical attitude towards their job today. They are doing it for the money, and when they discover the pay is not as huge as they expected, they lose the motivation to keep showing up.
Can things ever go back to how they used to be?

Getting things to go back to how they used to be (where people choose passion over money) is going to be really difficult, but I think if the government and those in authority can make the cost of living affordable like it used to be for the general masses, I think we will once again have a world where people choose passion over money because the cost of living is high and everyone is trying to meet up, and that way everyone is money-minded and no one cares about passion.
Also, I think kids should be groomed from when they are little that the world does not completely revolve around money or having money; their only pursuit should not be the benefits or fame that comes with money. Instead, they should pursue other things and not just focus on milking every situation or just going where the money is.
