Not everyone lets the intoxicating power of money get to them.

## Hello, everyone. I welcome you to my blog. Many people make the mistake of thinking everyone changes whenever they get some money or are in a better position, but that is very wrong, as not everyone lets the intoxicating power of money and power get to them. A high percentage of people change and feel like their level is now above that of the other and then try to cut them off by giving and showing a certain attitude, but do you know that sometimes this attitude does not even come from the one in a better position or with a better job? ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmezyFkHrdiP78GbUnPSVPmpDhxJj8kgRdEJ8MC7wQRnTR/1757136131656.jpg) There are times when a good friendship is ruined by the other one because they feel the need to cut off a friend because they are now in a better position than them and feel like soon the one in a better position will cut them off, and they rush to do so, whereas the one in a better position feels different and had no intention to do so. It is not always the one with a better job or in a better position that ruins the friendship or relationship. So many people stay true to their day ones even after securing a good job or being in a better position; not everyone changes or shows their true colours after securing some money for themselves. Sometimes we jump to conclusions too fast without waiting to hear from the other person, and that has flushed many good friendships down the drain. My childhood friend, who I have a very strong bond with – people who don't know us thought we were twins, we were so close, and our families had to become friends too – but after high school he joined the army. We were happy and celebrated. We were keeping in touch, but slowly things started to fade. The friendship that had so much spark was starting to lose its spark. Over time we started texting whenever we got the chance, and then one time he disappeared for over 8 months. No word from him, no call, and when he reappeared, I asked why he disappeared, and he said he was deployed to a location where there was no network and they had bandits attacking them every day, so there was no time for phones, as everyone was always on their toes and on alert to repel every attack from the bandits. ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmXrwdCsBFUeSyjtE4Q83ParyGAyeEgwCsi6BWm67DwqJd/1757136131546.jpg) We don't talk every day, but we totally understand that we are growing up and there is little or no time to be checking in on each other daily, so whenever we do, we update each other on recent happenings and wait until next time. We are now grown-ups; we have grown-up stuff to deal with, and it affects friendship where the friends fail to understand that adulthood requires everyone's full attention and there are no days off. images used are mine.
