James looked forward to the hangout he had planned out with friends from high school in a cabin in the woods just on the outskirts of town. They had seen other people do it from when they were in high school and wanted to try it out too, and the excitement of doing something like this with friends would not let James focus on work, as all he was praying for at that point was for the weekend to come real fast so he could pack up his bag and head to the location of the cabin, hoping to meet up and catch up with friends he had not seen in years and some he had not seen in months too.
The excitement was written all over his face and even his actions; he was known to be the type that always had a game face on, but seeing him smiling sheepishly behind his laptop left his colleagues wondering what was really going on with him.
"Hey James, I hope you are not in love?" Mark, a colleague in the office, asked, "Because only people in love smile and act the way you are acting?" Mark added as he turned his chair in James's direction, giving him his full attention.
"Me? "Hahahaha," James laughed. "I am not in love, bro; I am just excited about a hangout with my high school friends this weekend." James responded.
"But is your high school crush coming?" Mark asked again. "Because you look super excited, it cannot be because of just the hangout; there must be more." Mark said, winking at James.
"Hahaha, bro, my high school crush is out of the country. I am just excited to see the people that made my high school fun, that is all." James said as he pushed Mark on the head.
"I strongly doubt that because this excitement is more like love or a crush is involved." Mark said he has continued his work.

The weekend James was waiting for was finally here; he packed a few things in his traveling bag: a mosquito net, a torchlight, a few shots, and shirts that will be just enough for the few days that they will be in the cabin. He packed up and set out for the cabin with so much excitement and joy; he had waited so long, and finally he will get to meet up with his high school friends after so many years.
After about a 2-hour drive, he finally arrived at the cabin, and he saw 3 other cars parked in front of the cabin.
"That means I am late to the party; Jude, Sam, and Cassandra are here already." James said to himself as he rushed to the trunk of the car to get his traveling bag.
Immediately he entered the cabin, like expected, everyone screamed seeing how fat he had gotten and how tall his other friends now are.
"What are you feeding on?" Jude asked, looking at James.
"I plan to hit the gym next Monday, bro. I have been procrastinating about that, and that is what resulted in this fat." Jude said as he munched on the snacks Cassandra offered him.
"It's been a while, buddy. You all are looking good, and I am happy to see you." Sam said pointing at everyone in the room.
While they were trying to catch up and know how everyone has been trying to cope considering the inflation in the country, all that was brought to a pause when Cassandra raised an alarm that turned the smiles and laughter on all their faces into frowning.

"Guys, guys, guys." Cassandra said to get their attention, "Has anyone else noticed that there is no sign of a power supply in this cabin? Does that mean we will be here for 3 days without any power supply? Cassandra asked,
Immediately James and Jude rushed to the nearby switch and tried to turn it on, and taking the switch up and down did nothing, as none of the bulbs had light.
"Who even found out about this cabin, and how did you find out about it and not know they don't have any power supply?" Sam asked with a tune showing frustration.
"James did. How can you pay for a cabin without checking it out to know if it is good enough or not?" Cassandra said, burying her head in her palm.
"But you gave me the number of the owner of this cabin; you even recommended the cabin when we talked about it." James cut in, pointing fingers at Cassandra.
"So why did you recommend a cabin you know nothing about? You caused this." Sam said, pointing at Cassandra too.
"Enough of the blame game, guys; passing the blame will only spoil the fun. We have our phones, and I saw a torchlight in James's bag, so I think we have all we need to survive the night, and first thing tomorrow morning we can call for an electrician to come check why there is no power supply in the cabin." Jude interrupted everybody, and they all nodded in agreement to what he said.
