## Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog. Education is believed to be the key to success; that is what they told us as kids, and that is how it is in other working and functional countries, but in our country it is a completely different story. It feels more like they told us education is the key and then went behind and changed the lock. Today we have many graduates suffering way more than illiterates, and we have many graduates doing menial jobs to earn a living, and that alone is a discouragement to many, and many don't want to pursue education anymore.

Sometimes it feels like the country does not value education; they make promises to make things better, but they never fulfill that promise. Sometimes it feels like we have more graduates on the streets with a degree than we actually have touts; many people who went through hell to secure a degree have settled for less and are left with nothing but regrets, wishing that the time spent pursuing a degree was actually spent doing something else. The standard of education and the end of many educated people in Nigeria give a thousand reasons not to pursue your educational dreams and goals in the country.
The standard of education in Nigeria keeps declining with each passing day. In so many schools (high schools and even colleges), they have not been provided with any equipment or materials needed to bring the school up to standard or up to speed, and the few they had or have are bad or broken, but both the government and people in charge care less about all of that, and in the end, the students are the ones that suffer. Imagine filling a practical manual as a student, but you never actually get to carry out the practical because of the lack of the materials to do so, but a lecturer will just explain how to fill it up theoretically.

Many students only have theoretical knowledge of their course or subject with very little or no practical knowledge at all. Schools lack funding for one reason or another; it is either the government fails to provide it, or when they manage to, those in charge of disbursement or even the school use it for personal purposes and not the actual purpose the funds were disbursed for. Sometimes we make it look like our politicians are the only problem, but the truth is that even the masses are part of the problem we have; everyone wants to exploit the other or wants to seize any opportunity that comestheir way to loot.
The standard of education in Nigeria.
