It's not everyday, nor ever before even, that I have done a Tree Tuesday post with photos that were taken at night, but I thought this was so special that it deserved to be the first one of its kind. These photographs were captured at the Brookgreen Botanical Gardens located in the Myrtle Beach area of South Carolina. Throughout the summer on Wednesdays and Saturday nights the Gardens put on a night time event called Summer Light: Art by Night.
Now along with beautiful botanical gardens, Brookgreen is known for having the largest collection of sculptures in the country. Of course I am quite well known as being a legitimate cheap ass, but even I thought the $25 per person ticket price to be fair considering the extent of the gardens and the necessary expense of maintenance and upkeep.
As they say, much about success in life is all about the timing. To fully enjoy this evening event, timing is everything. The trick is arrive a bit before the gloaming and grab some shots, then wait until the hot sun sinks and the temps drop to take full advantage of the darkness and the effect it has on the sculptures.

These are different colored jellyfish lighting up the trees located in a nautical themed section of the Botanical Gardens.
