Hello everybody! I continue to show interesting places that I visited in 2019. Today we will talk about The Hague, the second capital of the Netherlands, where all the political structures of the state are located. The name of the city was formed from the expression "Des Graven Hage", which means the count's forest.
I had quite a little time to explore this city, however, I was able to see the most popular attractions.

Привет всем! Я продолжаю показывать интересные места, которые посетила в 2019 году. Сегодня речь пойдет о городе Гаага - второй столице Нидерландов, в которой располагаются все политические структуры государства. Название города образовалось от выражения "Des Graven Hage", что означает графский лес.
У меня было достаточно мало времени на осмотр этого города, однако, я смогла осмотреть самые популярные достопримечательности.
We started exploring the city from the Plein Square. It houses both modern cafes and historical buildings, one of which is the Royal Art Gallery Mauritshuis, which houses the works of masters of Dutch painting. For example, "Girl with the Pearl Earring" by Vermeer, "The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp" by Rembrandt van Rijn, "The Goldfinch" Carel Fabritius and others.
Начали осмотр города мы с площади Плейн. На ней расположены как современные кафе, так и исторические здания, одно из которых королевская художественная галерея Маурицхёйс, в которой хранятся работы мастеров голландской живописи. Например, «Девушка с жемчужной сережкой» Вермеера, «Урок анатомии доктора Тульпа» Рембрандта ван Рейна, «Щегол» Фабрициуса Карела и другие.
In the center of the Plein Square there is a monument to William I of Orange.
В центре площади Плейн находится памятник Вильгельму I Оранскому.
Next to the Mauritshuis is the Binnenhof, an ancient castle built in the XIII century, where the history of The Hague began. This place is located in the very center of the city and is its hallmark. Today, the Parliament of the Netherlands – the States General - meets here, and the residence of the Prime Minister is also located here.
When entering the Binnenhof from the gallery side, it's worth paying attention to the octagonal tower to the right of the entrance. This is the Torentier Tower, which is the Prime Minister's office.

In the courtyard of the Binnenhof Castle is the Ridderzaal or Hall of Knights, a Gothic-style building that is used for official royal receptions and conferences.

Opposite the Hall of Knights is the fountain of William II in the Neo-Gothic style.

However, the most beautiful view of the Binnenhof, in my opinion, opens from the side of the Hofvijver Pond.

Not far from the Binnenhof is the beautiful Noordeinde Palace. Here is the residence of the king, as well as the most important events for the royal family.
Неподалеку от Бинненхофа располагается красивый дворец Нордейнде. Здесь находится резиденция короля, а также проходят важнейшие для королевской семьи события.
Another important attraction of The Hague is the Peace Palace, which houses the International Court of Justice, the Academy of International Law, the Permanent Court of Arbitration. The building was built at the beginning of the XX century with the money of the multimillionaire E. Carnegie. The architecture of the Peace Palace combines several architectural styles: Gothic, Romanesque and Byzantine.
Еще одной важной достопримечательностью Гааги является Дворец мира, в котором находятся Международный суд ООН, Академия международного права, Постоянная палата третейского суда. Построено здание в начале XX века на деньги мультимиллионера Э. Карнеги. В архитектуре Дворца мира сочетается несколько архитектурных стилей: готический, романский и византийский.
The final part of the short trip to The Hague was a visit to the best resort in the country - Scheveningen. I managed to see the famous pier with a Ferris wheel. The beach was windy, cold, sparsely populated, but in its own way beautiful and attractive.
Заключительной частью короткой поездки в Гаагу стало посещение самого лучшего курорта страны - Схевенинген. Мне удалось увидеть знаменитый пирс с колесом обозрения. На пляже было ветрено, холодно, немноголюдно, но по-своему красиво и привлекательно.
