We discovered another pearl on the Adriatic coast unexpectedly. Last summer, my son organized a meeting for his dearest people at a villa in Moščenička Draga, Rijeka. So, we spent an unforgettable week among the Croatian mountains, in the silence of a luxurious small resort town.
We drove more than 800 km, parked our car in the yard, and for a week we forgot about all our worries, living under the care of my son. It's nice sometimes to shift all the responsibility onto the shoulders of a real loving man. When we meet him, we jokingly call him: "Our sultan, we are your harem :)" So, we woke up, slowly drank coffee, enjoying the beautiful view of the green Croatian mountains, swam in the pool, and after lunch, when the daytime August heat was replaced by pleasant evening warmth, we put on our most beautiful dresses and went to the shore of the Adriatic Sea.
There, among the stones, there were many cozy little coves, where we went down the stone steps. The water in the sea was cool, and after a short swim, we sat on the shore, enjoying the sunset and distant views of the city of Moščanycka Draga on the left. On the right, in the distance beyond the sea, blue mountains were visible. Amazingly interesting shapes of stones formed mini bays, where turquoise sea water flowed and created fascinating pictures. And on the very shore stood a uniquely beautiful house, which I wrote about earlier. It was so exotic and mysterious that I called it the Villa of the Drug Lord :) Maybe you read ?
I enjoyed every moment: flocks of birds in the sky, flying above the purple clouds. Yachts swaying calmly on the waves... But my gaze stopped again and again on the colorful houses of the city on the seashore. It was a must-see for exploration!
Moščenička Draga is an unusually beautiful resort in Croatia, home to one of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic Sea. Draga is not only a small fishing village, but also a pearl on the tourist map of the Mediterranean. It is practically a sea haven for the mountain village of Moščenička, which rises above the bay at an altitude of 173 meters. Moščenička Draga is a picturesque bay with a beautiful pebble coast, bordered by a pine park, cozy restaurants and cafes overlooking the sea. Walking here, you can see the Glagolitic letters carved on the portal of the parish church. The fortress wall, tower and city gate with the Habsburg coat of arms (restored in 1642) have remained the same as in ancient times. The history of Moščenička Draga as a settlement of the Illyrian Liburni people was famous even in ancient Roman times. In the nearby caves, traces of the first inhabitants of these places, settlements of the Illyrian Liburni tribe, whose fast warships were adopted by the Roman fleet, have been found...
In the evenings, the city acquired mystery and special charm thanks to the colorful lights of the houses. My daughters loved to take photos on the stones. And then we sat for a long time in our favorite bar on the beach, listening to dynamic music and tasting various alcoholic cocktails, which even more created a relaxing mood and a feeling of being in another dimension...

So the next morning we went for a walk along the sea between the houses of the city. We stopped occasionally to take Instagram stories and beautiful photos of our creative images.

We passed a small marina with yachts and moved along houses that reminded me of Dubrovnik in style. Small green windows with shutters are typical of ancient cities in Croatia.
My attention was drawn to a small fountain with drinking water flowing from a shell. There were many beautiful pink flowers around, filling the air with a wonderfully beautiful aroma.
Then I walked up the narrow street between the houses, looking at the balconies and grapevines that created the unique charm of this small Croatian town. And my @bugavi really loves to take my photos when I admire the houses 😃
Our beauty @darine.darine fits so beautifully in this colorful ancient city. You noticed - she has grown up during our trip!

If you enjoy looking at houses like I do, then you will love these photos where you see balconies, roofs, windows and flowerpots on the windowsill. All these elements create unique impressions and emotions of traveling in a new city!
My hobby: doing photo shoots near motorcycles :)
The way back also had some nice moments. A spontaneous photo of the lovers... And suddenly I saw a castle high in the mountains, which I unfortunately didn't have time to visit...
Here are some shots of our life at the villa. Memories of luxury, like a nice gift from my son. The sun was setting behind the mountains, and we swam in the warm pool without swimsuits, and then sat for a long time by the fire and watched the stars ...
Thank you for your visit. And see you on the next adventure of our #TheLongestTrip
