Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today's topic is from Indiaunited, which says, "Talk to your younger self?" So let's dive in.
Honestly, if I were given another chance to go back to my younger self and try to correct all the mistakes I’ve made, I'd be happy. If I could talk to my younger self, I would first tell myself **stop worrying so much.**
Back then, I used to worry about everything, how my future would turn out. Would it be good or bad? Would I succeed in life or not? I always thought about these things and also cared too much about what people thought of me. Did they see me as a good and obedient child, or as a rebellious one? Because during my younger years, I was indeed a stubborn and rebellious child. Sometimes when people talked to me, I wouldn’t answer them, or I’d mimic how they walked or talked. I used to wonder if I was doing enough or not. I wanted everything to happen fast, but now that I’ve grown older, I’ve come to realize that life doesn’t work like that.
---
I would tell my younger self that **making mistakes is normal**. After all, nobody is perfect. We all make mistakes, and those mistakes are part of learning. Through them, we discover new things about ourselves and about life.
During my younger years, I loved comparing myself to others. Without knowing it, comparing yourself with other people steals your peace of mind and happiness. You won’t feel happy when you see others progressing more than you. It makes you restless and uneasy because of the comparison.
Honestly, our fingers are not equal. We can’t expect everyone to become rich or successful at the same time, that’s impossible. It’s normal to see people progressing, getting rich, or getting scholarships before us, but that doesn’t mean we won’t reach our own destination. That’s why people always say even twins are not the same. They may be born by the same parents, but their behaviour is different. One can be brilliant while the other can be a dullard (slow to understand things).
---

Another thing I would tell my younger self is to **love and value yourself more**. You don’t need to be perfect for people to like you. You don’t have to do something great for people to respect you. I would remind myself, “Be yourself, be proud of who you are, and don’t let people’s opinions define you.” What really matters is your peace of mind and what makes you happy.
I would also remind myself to spend more time with my **loved ones.** During my younger years, instead of spending time with my siblings, I always spent it with my friends. I didn’t cherish those moments with my family as I should have. I forgot that people don’t always stay around forever. I wish there was a way to go back to my younger self to create and cherish lasting memories with my siblings and family.
If I could talk to my younger self, I’d say, **Oluwatosin, you’re doing great, better than you imagine.** Just keep going, keep pushing, keep learning, and keep trusting God, because everything will fall into place when the time is right.
In conclusion, I would tell my younger self to trust God. Because whatever happens in life happens for a reason. There’s nothing that happens that God doesn’t know about.
