2025 A Roller Coaster Year

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog!

This year has been a wild ride, a roller coaster of emotions, experiences, and unexpected twists. It didn't start on a sweet note; in fact, it began with one of the toughest things anyone can go through, the death of a loved one. Losing someone close to you is never easy, and having it happen at the start of a new year made everything feel a bit heavier. Grief has a way of coloring everything that comes after it, and for a while, it did.

But life has a way of moving forward, even when it feels like it shouldn't. In March, something shifted, I got a promotion at work. It was a big deal, a recognition of hard work, consistency and a boost in confidence. For a while after that, things were going smoothly. Work was good, life was settling into a smooth pace, and it felt like the grief was becoming a part of the past, something I was learning to live with.

Then came June, and with it, a really tough time. I fell ill, and it was one of those times where you realize how fragile health can be. Being sick wasn't fun, it took me out of commission for a bit, and it was scary. Being sick made me realise how important good health means, evey other thing lose it's value when you don't have good health, this helped me to understand the popular saying,"Health is wealth". Honestly, when you have good health, every other thing would be secondary, anyone who is healthy is very rich. But I've recovered now, and looking back, it's a reminder of how strong I've become. Getting through tough times like that makes you appreciate being healthy even more.

Fast forward to the month of August. I decided to break and a chance to explore. I spent two weeks in Ibadan, a city full of life and culture. It was an adventure , walking through bustling markets, trying new foods, and meeting people who became friends. Ibadan was a reminder that there's so much out there to experience, and sometimes you just need to step out of your routine to find new connections and joy. The friends I made there are ones I'll keep in touch with; they added something special to my year.

All in all, this year has been a mix of highs and lows, but I'm grateful for every part of it. The tough times taught me resilience, the good times brought joy, and everything in between reminded me to appreciate life as it comes. We've got a few months left in the year, and I'm hoping they'll be wonderful ones, filled with more exploration, good health, and time with people I care about.

As the year winds down, I'm thinking about what I've learned. Life's a roller coaster, and sometimes it dips low and sometimes it soars high. But through it all, there's beauty in the journey. I'm grateful for the loved ones still here, for the opportunities like that promotion, for recovering from illness, and for experiences like exploring Ibadan. Hopefully, the rest of the year will bring more of the good stuff, laughter, connection, and maybe a few more adventures.

This year hasn't been easy, but it hasn't been boring either. And in the end, isn't that what life's about? The ups, the downs, the people you meet along the way? I'm looking forward to whatever the remaining months bring, with a sense of gratitude for everything that's happened so far.
