Today was one of those days where the weather totally took over. Earlier today, i had plans to go to work, i woke up really early, freshened up, and headed to work.
this was what the weather looked like on my way to work
I spent my day at work, nothing out of the ordinary there, just the usual tasks and meetings. But the trip back home? It was a completely different story. On my way back from work, i stood at the bus stop for a while, waiting for a bus to arrive, but none came by. I couldn't wait anymore, then i decided to take a motorcycle, thinking I'd beat the rain maybe, or at least get home faster. Big mistake!
Everywhere was flooded. The rain was coming down like crazy. Streets were rivers, sidewalks were streams, I'm not even exaggerating, and it was like the whole city was underwater. And I was on a bike, getting pelted by raindrops. I got wet, like really wet, Water was dripping off me by the time I got home. I was shivering, feeling so cold. My clothes were soaked through, my teeth were shaking.
When I finally got home, I was shivering like crazy. Teeth were chattering, my body was shaking, and I was super cold. The first thing I did was head to the kitchen to make a hot cup of tea. Needed something to warm me up from the inside. Then I went and took a warm bath, which helped a bit. Afterwards, I threw on a sweater, thick and cosy, trying to get my body temperature back to normal. I wasn't still feeling warm enough, so i went to hit up the cooker, i stood close to the fire so i could get warmed up, this process worked because after i was done, i got some relief .
Even now, I'm still feeling kinda cold. My body hasn't totally warmed up yet. But you know what? I'm grateful I made it home on time. It could've been worse. I could've gotten stuck somewhere in that rain. But I didn't. I got home, got warm-ish, and now I'm here sipping this tea. Guess that's the silver lining, Lol.
Looking back on today, maybe taking a bike in that rain wasn't the brightest idea. But I did it, and I got home. The rain was crazy. The commute was crazy, but I'm safe now. And that's what matters. Tomorrow'll hopefully be a better day weather-wise.
That's was how my whole day went. The flooded commute home on a bike got wet, shivered, warmed up. It was not the most ideal day, but it happened. I've been seeing some waves on ecency, talking about how it rained in their areas, i hope their areas didn't get flooded like mine.
