A Shipwrecked Man's Tale. We return to enjoy the magic of the great writer and journalist Gabriel García Márquez, because I never get tired, nor will I get tired of reading his great novels over and over again. Several days ago I commented on several of his works and today's novel has no comparison; I say this, because even knowing that Gabriel is the genius of magical realism; here we present a work that was real; however, the narrative that characterizes this writer, will always be present. We are talking about A Shipwrecked Man's Tale; a novel that tells the story of Luis Alejandro Velasco; that Colombian sailor who, after spending several days adrift due to the shipwreck of his boat, lived an unthinkable odyssey that culminated with his survival. As a result of what happened; there were several reviews by a Colombian newspaper, but that did not want there; because Alejandro himself was under the gaze of Gabriel, to tell him all the details of this terrible tragedy. It is not easy to spend 10 days adrift under the scorching sun and surrounded by the dangers that can be found at sea; beware of sharks. But the exciting thing is that the reader is always intrigued by the way the writer, after receiving all the information, makes us part of the life of the shipwrecked; the landscapes and the experience are described in a masterful way and we live everything in first person. Gabriel and his pen really make us feel part of the story; it seems that we, reading each line, are living in our own flesh what Luis felt during all his agony. Here there was a magnificent reconstruction of the facts; making the reader feel thirst, hunger, desperation and everything that Velasco lived in the open sea. This work turned out to be a great impact on the Colombian population; since it revealed to the light, all the truths that led to the succumbing of the ship at the expense of the sea. First of all, it had been said that the tragedy was caused by a storm; but in reality, it was all caused by the excessive weight of contraband, which caused many problems for the writer on a personal and professional level. During the novel, the author narrates the story in first person, as if it were the same shipwrecked person who comments on everything. However; they are not only letters, but the author with his masterful pen and all his magic, creates the necessary atmosphere with the deepest details, so that we see ourselves in that raft and feel the skin burned by the sun; see hallucinations and feel the agony of witnessing the drowning of his companions. And even knowing that the protagonist is rescued; we will always be intrigued and always feel a deep suspense throughout the reading. In that sense; certainly, it must be an agony to live day after day a new dawn to face many challenges, to have frustrated hopes and to be in front of the sea at the mercy of all its dangers.   In a few words; this novel exposes many themes that surround the human condition. Throughout the reading; the author highlights the power of resilience, since after knowing all the tragedy that occurred; the protagonist was able to overcome all the threats and thus overcome them. On the other hand; in case you have not yet read this novel, you will never know that this literary text is a deep criticism of the political and military power; but that did not minimize Gabriel, because with all his talent, he was able to perform masterfully this novel of great journalistic and social value; it lets you know that after feeling like a hero, you could be hated by everyone. In short, this story shows us how weak our existence is in the face of nature. On the other hand, we realize that the slightest mistake can change the destiny of things, reminding us how powerful the universe can be. It is also a lesson in courage on the part of the author, since his commitment was one of total responsibility in wanting to tell the whole truth, regardless of all the personal and professional dangers from which he could not escape. Simply put; it is a work that immerses us in the depths of the human mind and makes us feel part of it; if you have not read it, you should look for it and enjoy it. Relato de un Naufrago. Volvemos a disfrutar de la magia del gran escritor y periodista Gabriel García Márquez, porque jamás me canso, ni me cansaré de leer una y otra vez sus grandes novelas. Hace varios días les comenté varias de sus obras y la de hoy no tiene comparación; digo esto, porque aun sabiendo que Gabriel es el genio del realismo mágico; aquí se presenta una obra que fue real; sin embargo, la narrativa que caracteriza a este escritor, siempre estará presente. Hablamos del Relato de un Naufrago; una novela que narra la historia de Luis Alejandro Velasco; aquel marinero colombiano que luego de pasar varios días a la deriva por el naufragio de su embarcación; vivió una odisea impensable que culminó con su supervivencia. A raíz de lo ocurrido; hubieron varias reseñas por parte de un periódico colombiano, pero eso no quería allí; porque el mismo Alejandro estuvo bajo la mirada de Gabriel, para contarle todos los detalles de esta terrible tragedia. No es fácil pasar 10 dias a la deriva bajo el sol abrasador y rodeado de los peligros que se pueden encontrar en el mar; cuidado con los tiburones. Pero lo emocionante; es que el lector siempre está intrigado por la forma en que el escritor, luego de recibir toda la información; hace que formemos parte de la vida del naufrago; se describen los paisajes y la experiencia de una manera magistral y vivimos todo en primera persona. De verdad que Gabriel y su pluma nos hace sentir parte de la historia; pareciera que nosotros, al leer cada línea, estamos viviendo en carne propia lo que sintió Luis durante toda su agonía. Aquí hubo una reconstrucción magnífica de los hechos; haciendo que el lector sintiera sed, hambre, desesperación y todo lo que vivió Velasco en el mar abierto. Esta obra resultó ser un impacto grandioso en la población colombiana; ya que se reveló a la luz, todas las verdades que llevaron a sucumbir a la embarcación a expensas del mar. En primer lugar; se había dicho que la tragedia fue a causa de una tormenta; pero realmente, todo fue causado por el excesivo peso de contrabando, esto le causó muchos problemas al escritor a nivel personal y profesional. Durante la novela; el autor narra la historia en primera persona, como si fuera el mismo naufrago quien comenta todo. Sin embargo; no son solo letras, sino que el autor con su pluma magistral y toda su magia, crea el ambiente necesario con los más profundos detalles, para que nosotros nos veamos en esa balsa y sentir la piel quemada por el sol; ver alucinaciones y sentir la agonía de presenciar el ahogamiento de sus compañeros. Y aun sabiendo que el protagonista es rescatado; siempre vamos a estar intrigados y siempre vamos a sentir un profundo suspenso durante toda la lectura. En tal sentido; ciertamente, debe ser toda una agonía vivir día tras día un nuevo amanecer para afrontar muchos desafíos, tener esperanzas frustradas y estar frente al mar a merced de todos sus peligros.   En pocas palabras; esta novela expone muchos temas que rodean la condición humana. Durante toda la lectura; el autor destaca el poder de la resiliencia, ya que luego de saber toda la tragedia ocurrida; el protagonista pudo sortear todas las amenazas y así superarlas. Por otra parte; por si aún no han leído esta novela, jamás podrán saber que este texto literario es una profunda crítica hacia el poder político y militar; pero eso no minimizó a Gabriel, porque con todo su talento, pudo realizar de forma magistral esta novela de gran valor periodístico y social; te hace saber, que después de sentirte como un héroe, podrías ser odiado por todos. En fin; esta historia nos da a conocer lo débil que resulta ser nuestra existencia frente a la naturaleza. Por otra parte; nos damos cuenta que el más mínimo error puede cambiar el destino de las cosas, recordándonos lo poderoso que puede ser el universo. Además de ello; es una lección de valentía por parte del autor, ya que su compromiso era de total responsabilidad al querer contar toda la verdad, sin importar todos los peligros a nivel personal y profesional de los cuales no podría escapar. Sencillamente; es una obra que nos sumerge en lo más profundo de la mente humana y nos hace sentir parte de ella; si no la has leído, debes buscarla y disfrutarla.
