At first hand that was what I thought when I saw this book; but when I started reading, little by little I was immersed in this wonderful world proposed by Sylvia. It really is a text that involves us like you have no idea; and I say this because the protagonist develops in a different way than girls in love; if you have the opportunity to read this story, I am sure that despite the mystery and intrigue, you will fall in love. As I said before; not only love and romance are present in this novel, but there are also stages of mystery woven in that are extremely brilliant. Here we see Hester Perceval a great girl with a masterful intelligence, her ability to decode and decipher enigmas, is the spearhead in the development of the plot. This girl has stayed at home as a kind of hermit, after being humiliated in London by a person of high society, which has left her marked. But this is not all; because even though he is at home, he receives correspondence from a supposed friend whose identity is Zeno. In a way; the plot immerses us in the liberation and reconciliation that not only happens between the protagonists; but invites us to reflect on how we see the past through our own experience; simply, the whole story is woven on the basis of humiliation, which in the end advances towards incredible emotional events. In this case; after Hester stays inside the doors of her home; logically she immerses herself in a total isolation and does it as a way to establish a shield, in order to get away from anyone who has hurt her. Hester represents that woman who has always struggled to achieve a position of honor in society; a position that allows her to be away from the social norms that only seek to humiliate the human being. Now; a very important and interesting aspect of the story and this could be taken as a spoiler; is that Zeno is Hester's pen pal, that friend with whom she has fallen in love because of his ability to solve riddles, a highly intelligent person. All of this has created a kind of long-distance love, where two brilliant minds are in tune and away from that London where cruelty abounds; for Hester, this strange relationship is a connection that has simply been based on appearance, they don't really know each other. But things are not rosy and we are going to cover our eyes, because Zeno knows who Hester is and he needs her to decipher a deep mystery. However; know you that Zeno is nothing more and nothing less than that person who humiliated Hester in London; I will not present his name for you to discover, but when Hester learns that Zeno and this Lord are the same person, there is nothing more to say, so the girl feels a deep disappointment and moves away from him completely; she runs away because of all the pain she feels as a result of this deception. Certainly the relationship between the characters advances in a professional manner and little by little they solve the enigmas, to unravel the plot that they still do not know who they involve; they, for the moment feel respect for their minds, without knowing that their intellects are the starting point for the birth of that love. Another point that caught my attention; is that forgiveness is present as a way to move forward in life. For example; Hester feels that she must forgive Zeno for all his cruelty and deceit; and on the other hand, Zeno has to learn to be sincere from the first moment and learn to forgive himself for the damage done. In this sense; the author invites us to reflect on this point and that certainly forgiving does not eliminate the damage that has been done; but it can help us to move forward into our future; simply, forgiving can make us better people. In addition; by reading this novel, we also learn that love should not be based on appearances, but on the beauty that can be seen and felt inside people; I say this, because Hester is not exactly a beauty queen, but she has a beautifully giant soul. In short, the novel is a story full of love, mystery and a sense of overcoming. With it we learn that a relationship can be established beyond the superficial; on the other hand, we see a highly intelligent character, whose intelligence is the key to open her heart and with it we learn that past mistakes do not necessarily build our future. What excites me the most is that the author teaches us that love can be found where we least imagine it and that sometimes a scene of mystery can be the way to find the right person. De verdad que es un texto que nos envuelve como no tienen idea; y digo esto, porque la protagonista se desenvuelve de una manera diferente a como lo hacen las chicas enamoradas; si tienen oportunidad de leer esta historia, estoy seguro que a pesar del misterio y la intriga, se van a enamorar. Como dije antes; no solo el amor y el romance están presentes en esta novela, sino que se tejen etapas de misterio sumamente geniales. Aquí vemos a Hester Perceval una grandiosa chica con una inteligencia magistral, su capacidad para descodificar y descifrar enigmas, es la punta de lanza en el desarollo de la trama. Esta chica se ha quedado en casa como una especie de ermitaña; luego de que en londres fuera humillada por una persona de la alta sociedad, cosa que la ha dejado marcada. Pero esto no es todo; porque aunque esté en casa, recibe correspondencia de un supuesto amigo cuya identidad es Zeno. En cierta forma; la trama nos sumerge en la liberación y reconciliación que no solo sucede entre los protagonistas; sino que nos invita a reflexionar sobre como vemos el pasado a través de nuestra propia experiencia; simplemente, toda la historia se teje sobre las bases de la humillación, que al final avanza hacia eventos emocionales increíbles. Ahora; un aspecto muy importante e interesante de la historia y esto pudiera ser tomado como spoiler; es que Zeno es el amigo por correspondencia de Hester, ese amigo de quien ella se ha enamorado por la capacidad que tiene de resolver enigmas, una persona sumamente inteligente. Todo esto ha creado una especie de amor a distancia, donde dos mentes brillantes congenian y se alejan de aquel londres donde abunda la crueldad; para Hester, esta extraña relación es una conexión que simplemente se ha basado en la apariencia, realmente no se conocen. Pero las cosas no son color de rosas y vamos a cubrirnos los ojos, porque Zeno sabe quien es Hester y la necesita para descifrar un profundo misterio. Sin embargo; sepan ustedes que Zeno es nada más y nada menos que esa persona que humilló a Hester en Londres; no voy a presentar su nombre para que ustedes lo descubran, pero cuando Hester se entera que Zeno y este Lord son la misma persona, no queda nada más que decir, por lo que la chica siente una profunda decepción y se aleja totalmente de él; ella huye por todo el dolor que siente a raíz de este engaño. Ahora Zeno debe emprender una búsqueda frenética para localizar a Hester; ya que ella es la única que puede ayudarlo a desenmascarar un complot lleno de misterio. Ciertamente la relación entre los personajes avanza de una manera profesional y poco a poco van resolviendo los enigmas, para desentrañar el complot que aún no saben a quienes involucran; ellos, por el momento sienten respeto por sus mentes, sin saber que sus intelectos son el punto de partida para el nacimiento de ese amor. Otro punto que me llamó la atención; es que el perdón está presente como una manera de avanzar en la vida. Por ejemplo; Hester siente que debe perdonar a Zeno por toda su crueldad y engaño; y por otra parte, Zeno tiene que aprender a ser sincero desde el primer momento y aprender a perdonarse por el daño cometido. En tal sentido; la autora nos invita a reflexionar sobre este punto y que ciertamente perdonar no hace que se elimine el daño que se ha hecho; pero si puede ayudarnos a avanzar hacia nuestro futuro; sencillamente, perdonar puede hacernos mejores personas. Además; al leer esta novela, también aprendemos que el amor no debe basarse en apariencias, sino en la belleza que se puede ver y sentir en el interior de las personas; digo esto, porque Hester no es precisamente una reina de belleza, pero tiene un alma hermosamente gigante. En definitiva; la novela es una historia llena de amor, misterio y sentido de superación. Con ella aprendemos que una relación se puede establecer más allá de lo superficial; por otra parte, vemos a un personaje sumamente inteligente, cuya inteligencia es la clave para abrir su corazón y con ella aprendemos que los errores del pasado, no necesariamente construyen nuestro futuro. Lo que más me emociona; es que la autora nos enseña que el amor se puede encontrar donde menos lo imaginamos y que a veces una escena de misterio, puede ser el camino para encontrar a la persona indicada. Sinceramente te invito a descifrar el código de este libro, el cual es muy interesante y a medida que te sumerges en sus páginas, notarás que en la trama ocurren giros muy inesperados; me agradó mucho leerla y te invito a disfrutarla.
