The morning felt fresh and full of quiet promise as I pedaled early to Plötzensee. I traded traffic for trees, weaving through wild undergrowth on an adventurous detour that felt like stepping into another world. I spotted yellow alpine plums, cherry plums, and brambles bursting with berries, their colors glowing like tiny lanterns. Even the sight of slugs feasting on giant puffball mushrooms became strangely fascinating. After some interval walking, I squated by the still water, practicing meditation and breathing exercises while the empty city slept. The silence was surreal, broken only by soft waves and distant birdsong. It was astonishing to see the autobahn completely deserted, a rare reminder of how peaceful Berlin could be in summer holidays. I soaked it in and brought back a few impressions to share, because mornings like this stayed with me long after they ended.
Der Morgen fühlte sich frisch und voller stiller Versprechen an, als ich früh zum Plötzensee radelte. Ich tauschte Verkehr gegen Bäume und schlängelte mich auf einer abenteuerlichen Entdeckungstour durchs Unterholz, als wäre ich in eine andere Welt getreten. Ich entdeckte gelbe Alpenpflaumen, Kirschpflaumen und Brombeeren, deren Farben wie kleine Laternen leuchteten. Selbst die Nacktschnecken, die an Riesenbovisten fraßen, wirkten faszinierend. Nach ein paar Intervall-Walking-Einheiten hockte ich am ruhigen Wasser, meditierte und machte Atemübungen, während die leere Stadt schlief. Die Stille war surreal, nur von sanften Wellen und fernen Vogelstimmen unterbrochen. Es war erstaunlich, die völlig leere Stadtautobahn zu sehen, ein seltener Moment der Ruhe im Berliner Sommer. Ich nahm alles in mich auf und brachte euch ein paar Eindrücke mit, weil solche Morgen lange nachklangen.
