Malema On Monday Morning - A Break In Routine

@onetree · 2018-06-25 11:57 · newslink

This Monday morning we arrived at work to find the road closed in various places, blocking vehicular access to our store. Due to the absence of sirens and police cars, I deduced it must be time for South Africa's controversial leader of the EFF (Economic Freedom Front), Julius Malema to appear in court....again.

Basically the EFF say they want to seize privately owned land from whites and indians and redistribute to the the disadvantaged black people of our country. This is the reason why he is appearing in court in our town, as he told his followers to go out and forcibly take the land they wanted at a political rally in our town in 2016 (I think). The case is continually being postponed, so it is quite a farce. He was only in court for about ten minutes today, and the case was again postponed to 25 February 2019.

The road blocked off in all directions.

I'm not sure if he had one or two previous visits to our court, but his support today seemed rather lacklustre .(which Malema blamed on the cold! It's not that cold today!!!) I doubt there were even 200 people to support him. Malema also seemed to be on good behaviour, as he didn't even once mentioning killing us (whites)!

How do I feel about all this? Pretty blah. If they want to forcibly seize "my" property, they can have it. It all belongs to the bank anyway. People get so worked up by his speeches, but that's what people love to do. Fear porn I suppose. I have more of a chance of getting killed in a road accident or armed robbery, both commonplace and regular occurrences in our rather lawless country. Anyway the marching, singing and dancing was quite entertaining, especially for a dull winter's Monday morning.

I am sharing a video clip I took from a distance. I was the wrong skin colour to go much closer, and I didn't want my phone swiped either! There are a few more videos that I have included from various news outlets if you would like to see a bit of the court proceedings and the speech.

My clip.

Case postponed...again.

Opinion.

In action!
