I'm sharing my cover of Imogen Heap's "Headlock" for Round 3. This song turns 20 this year (from her 2005 album Speak for Yourself), and I wanted to honor it with a stripped-back approach.
I've removed the guitar entirely to focus on the vocals and lyrics. The line "got your heart in a headlock" has always resonated with me – that feeling of being stuck in your own thoughts. Without instruments, the emotion comes through more directly.
Recording this was challenging but rewarding. Imogen's original is so layered with electronics, and singing it raw makes you appreciate her songwriting even more. It's not a perfect replica, but it's my genuine interpretation.

Comparto mi versión de "Headlock" de Imogen Heap para la Ronda 3. La canción cumple 20 años este año (de su álbum Speak for Yourself, 2005), y quise honrarla con un enfoque minimalista.
Eliminé la guitarra completamente para centrarme en la voz y letra. La frase "got your heart in a headlock" siempre me llegó – esa sensación de sentirse atrapado en tus pensamientos. Sin instrumentos, la emoción se siente más directa.
Grabar esto fue un reto pero valió la pena. La versión original de Imogen es tan electrónica y compleja que cantarla desnuda te hace valorar más su composición. No es una copia perfecta, pero es mi interpretación sincera.
