In February last year I planted a seed. It sprouted. During the months after, it grew and started to look like a the broccoli plant it was supposed to be.
Except, no purple sprouting broccolis appeared.
Up until a few weeks ago. It had taken the plant more than a year to grow all those little, purple broccoli heads.
However, within the time span of a week, the broccoli turned into a giant flower bed. Long yellow flowers started to grow everywhere, and the plant ended up looking like in the picture above.
I had no idea this would happen, let alone that it would happen so fast all of a sudden. I didn't even get the chance to taste my purple sprouting broccoli ...😭 I know the yellow flowers are edible too, but I don't think they have a lot of flavour.
One of the few failed garden experiments so far. 🙄🌱
