Hello, dear friends of Hive Open Mic
I'm back here, happy to be back after some intense internet problems. The song I want to share this week is called “Carito”. It's composers are Antonio Tárrago Ros and León Gieco. This song is based on Chamamé (Argentine folkloric rhythm) and it is composed in 6/8 which led me to make it in 3/4, Venezuelan waltz rhythm. It is not difficult this adaptation because the 6/8 and the 3/4 have a very similar rhythmic pattern that even confuses those who are not used to play it frequently.
Carito, is a song that speaks of a person of the province that leaves its river, its mountain and its flora to come to the city. the city and in this context, uses lies to talk about his origin and the beautiful things that until then were part of his life. then were part of his life.
The song makes a reflection about this equivocal attitude, which also leads him to be alone, to cry. The lyrics also The lyrics also present us with the beautiful and supportive attitude of someone who offers his friendship so that he can somehow have a reunion with himself and his roots.
I really hope you enjoy it...
Lyrics
Sitting alone on a bench in the city with your gaze remembering the coastline your fate wanted to be broken half truth, half lie, as the promised hope of the poor.
Walking alone under the gray drizzle pretending hard that your life was from here because you changed a sea of people where the flower rules see that the river never gave away the color.
Carito, let go your sorrow, let your tear become a diamond between my strings. Carito, let go your stone to fly like the thrush in springtime.
In Buenos Aires shoes are modern but they don't look as they do in a town square let your little light speak secretly to the song so that the sun will illuminate you a little more.
Any seed, when it is a plant, wants to see the same star of that evening that saved it from the sharp beak sheltering it in the dark of the razing seagull of the furrows.
Carito, I am your friend, I offer myself as a tree for your nest. Carito, release your song, that the fan in my accordion is waiting for it.
