Greetings @worldmappin community, today I want to share a visit to a place that is truly a brilliant work of colonial art. I hope the photos will help you appreciate this more than my words.
Recently my friend Maribel turned 65 and we wanted to celebrate the occasion with a relaxing walk and of course nothing better than visiting our Museum of Universal Art, located in the heart of Havana, next to Central Park and across from the Manzana Hotel..
Its extremely central location makes it very easily accessible from different points in the capital and is one of its advantages, attracting a large flow of people to visit it..
This museum houses numerous works by famous painters and sculptors. Its collections date from the 16th to the 19th centuries, showcasing works from around the world.
There are 24 galleries with various exhibitions, but sadly, not all of them were open on the day I visited. The museum, like everything else in the country, faces numerous difficulties with staff and energy shortages. However, it's fair to say that those who were there were very attentive, and the quality and beauty of the works made up for this inconvenience.
I enjoyed not only the exhibition but also the opulence and majesty of the building.
Upon arrival, we bought the entrance tickets and left our bags. Two very helpful people met us at the shop and explained how the exhibits were organized and the possibility of arranging guided tours in different languages.
It was a very nice touch to have incense placed at the entrance, which filled the place with a pleasant aroma, relaxing us and preparing us for a moment of spiritual relaxation.
You can access the rooms via the elevators, but my friend and I took the stairs; it's a real luxury to be able to walk up them, appreciating their decor.
We went to the European art gallery, where internationally renowned works are exhibited.
I'm not an art expert, but I greatly appreciate the beauty it conveys, so on that floor, my attention was drawn to the stained-glass windows and the arches and columns that surrounded the room. From inside, I could contemplate the structure of the rooms dedicated to ancient culture.
I share with you that those interested in taking a break and a snack can visit Cafe Basco, which has the same design as when the building housed the Asturian society.
The elegance of the building is extraordinary. What draws the most attention are the mosaics and tiles that decorate the place, as well as the woodwork on its doors and windows, from where one can appreciate the comings and goings of the residents and visitors of Central Havana itself.
I preferred to sit on some benches inside the museum, right at the threshold of the staircase, to try to better contemplate all the sculptures and especially the stained-glass ceiling, through which light penetrated and offered a beautiful image.
We truly had a lovely afternoon, enjoying the different manifestations of art, design, atmosphere and colonial architecture, undoubtedly, deservedly, many call the place The Palace of the Museum of Fine Arts.
Visiting this museum is a very good option for both national and foreign visitors..

Saludos comunidad de @worldmappin, hoy quiero compartir una visita a un lugar que es realmente una genial obra de arte colonial, espero que las fotos les permita apreciar esto más que mis palabras.
Recientemente mi amiga Maribel cumplió 65 años y queríamos celebrar la ocasión, con un paseo relajante y por supuesto nada mejor que visitar nuestro Museo de Arte Universal, situado en el corazón de la habana, a un lado del Parque Central y frente al Hotel Manzana,la dirección exacta es San Rafael entre Zulueta y Monserrate.
Su ubicación extremadamente céntrica lo hace de muy fácil acceso, desde los diferentes puntos de la capital y es una de sus ventajas para que acuda un flujo amplio de personas a visitarlos.
Este Museo alberga en su interior numerosas obras de pintores y escultores famosos,sus colecciones datan de los siglos XVI hasta el XIX, muestran obras del mundo entero.
Existen 24 salas de diversas exposición,pero penosamente el día que fui no todas estaban abiertas, el museo como todo en el país afronta numerosas dificultades.con la carencia de personal y la energía, pero es justo reconocer que los que estaban eran muy atentos y la calidad y belleza de las obras opacaban este inconveniente.
Yo disfruté no solo la exposición sino toda la opulencia y majestuosidad de la edificación.
Al llegar compramos los ticket de entrada y dejamos los bolsos,en el local se encuentran dos personas muy atentas las que explican como están organizadas las muestras y la posibilidad que existe de coordinar las visitas guiadas en diferentes idiomas.
Fue un detalle muy agradable que en la entrada tengan colocados inciensos, los cuales impregnan al lugar de un agradable aroma, que nos relaja y nos prepara para vivir un momento de relajación espiritual.
Puedes acceder a las salas por medio de los elevadores, pero mi amiga y yo lo hicimos por las escaleras,es todo un lujo poder subir por ellas, apreciando su decoración.
Fuimos a la sala de arte europeo, donde se exhiben obras de fama internacional.
Yo no soy experta en arte, pero aprecio mucho la belleza que trasmite, por eso en ese piso , mi atención se centro en los vitrales y en los arcos y columnas que le daban la vuelta a la sala, desde su interior podía contemplar la estructura de las salas dedicadas a la cultura antigua.

Les comparto que aquellos interesados en tomar un descanso y un refrigerio, pueden visitar el Cafe Basco , este tiene el mismo diseño que cuando el edificio, albergaba a la sociedad asturiana.

Es extraordinaria la elegancia del recinto, lo que mas llama la atención son los mosaicos y azulejos que decoran el lugar, así como los trabajos de madera de sus puertas y ventanas, desde donde se puede apreciar el ir y venir de los habitantes y visitantes del mismo Centro de La Habana.

Yo preferí sentarme en unos bancos que hay en el interior del museo, justo en el umbral de La escalera, para tratar de contemplar mejor, toda las esculturas y sobre todo el vitral del techo, por donde penetraba la claridad y ofrecía una bella imagen.

Realmente pasamos una tarde encantadora, disfrutamos de las diferentes manifestaciones del arte, del diseño, ambiente y arquitectura colonial, sin dudas, merecidamente , muchos le llaman al lugar El Palacio del Museo de Bellas Artes.
Visitar este Museo es muy buena opción tanto para nacionales como para visitantes extranjeros.
