W 279 Leisure and work must be balanced.

And the weekend has arrived. We meet again and enjoy this space.

I'm motivated to chat a little about the topic: Leisure or work: Is it okay to work on weekends or not?

In my opinion, the key point in this, as in everything in life, is to achieve the right balance between the two. We must be convinced that they are important and necessary for our development and well-being.

Whether we work on weekends or not depends on thousands of factors. We may be in the leisure, retail, or healthcare sectors and must do so due to the nature of these jobs. So, your weekend is when you get to rest, and you should take advantage of it. There are people who like to relax during the week and go for walks because everything feels peaceful and easy.

In other cases, and I am in this group, I have had to work both out of economic necessity and out of necessity for my work entity, and I don't find it uncomfortable, to be honest, because in the first case, it has been important to achieve certain goals or alleviate financial tensions. In the second case, I like to support my work group and, if they need me, I am happy to contribute, not only for money but because we are a good group.

Now, what I am well aware of is that not getting a weekend break shouldn't be a habit. In my case, it's when everyone at home is off and we can spend time together, which is important for strengthening family ties.

Now, right now, my children don't live with me, my husband and many of my friends are retired, and we can make a Tuesday or Wednesday a Weekend JJJ. What matters isn't the number of days, but rather setting aside time to rest and relax from the stress of everyday life, the tensions, and other daily situations.

It goes without saying that working is crucial because it's not only a source of income and well-being, it's also a source of developing many physical and mental skills and abilities. It's a way to integrate into society and establish emotional bonds, build responsibility, and develop countless values as human beings. Work has often been a balm or an escape from many problems, both economic and personal, but we must be careful not to alienate ourselves and become slaves to work, because we become ill and miss out on enjoying the beauties of life.

Leisure also has its limits. Even with enough money for it, I believe people wouldn't achieve full development and would lack many values and a capacity for understanding the world.

Nonetheless, my friends, I believe the two complement each other, and the degree to which we prioritize one over the other depends on each of us and the moment we're in. The same goes for weekends. It's all about meeting our expectations and enjoying what we decide to do.
