W 280 : Helping Hand

@osismi · 2025-10-27 02:30 · Weekend Experiences
Greetings, community, this weekend has been a bit complicated for me, but I could not help but discuss with everyone some experiences, in putting aside our things to help someone else who needs it more.

The first thing I want to say is that my people are very supportive and from a very early age we learn to put before our needs the needs of those who we know require our support.

At the moment we are living in a very delicate situation with more than six viruses circulating in the country, one could say that it is an epidemic, although it has not been officially declared.

This makes people feel very bad and need help, especially the most vulnerable, including those who live alone. They go from fever and pain, to not being able to get out of bed, to losing balance and consciousness.

This weekend I had to look for medicine for my neighbor, make a broth for the elderly who live on the corner and take it to a friend who lives far away and alone.

I am comforted to see how in my work my colleagues in one way or another are supporting the sick. With the shortages we live in, a somewhat selfish behavior has been generated and thank God in these circumstances we have responded with solidarity.

To aggravate the situation there is a category 4 hurricane so far, which is forecast to affect the eastern provinces, this type of event greatly affects the population, so it requires all support in clothes, toys, food, etc..

Perhaps because we have lived in a country where, due to its low development, the support of the people is required, because this support comes first, rather than the support that the state can provide.

Sometimes these are very simple and insignificant actions, but sometimes they imply certain sacrifices for the sake of others.

I give you an example when tired of working, waiting for several hours for public transportation, you manage to sit down and an elderly person, a physically handicapped person or a pregnant woman gets on a crowded transport where they can not even stand up, because they are tired, sometimes feeling fatigued, you must offer your seat because these people need it more.

So it is with medicines, with long lines, etc.

On other occasions I have commented that it makes me feel good to alleviate the pain of others, so when it has been necessary to prioritize supporting others in any circumstance I have done it and I am happy to say that many do it.
