El día de hoy fue un poco agitado para mí; se me presentaron varias situaciones a las que tuve que dar respuesta, tanto dentro como fuera de la casa.

Uno de los acontecimientos de hoy se presentó con un vecino que me llamó para que bajara a su casa con carácter de urgencia, y su llamado fue tan angustiante que bajé de manera inmediata. Y al llegar a su casa me conseguí a mi amigo, un músico profesional muy angustiado y tratando de llegar a un acuerdo financiero con un técnico que le estaba cobrando 150$ por su mano de obra.

Después de un rato, cuando Rubén terminó de hablar y se calmó un poco, le pregunté qué era lo que pasaba, y él me comentó que su hija fue a lavar la ropa y la lavadora empezó a botar agua, y al ver eso llamó a varios técnicos y le estaban cobrando entre 80 y 150$ por la mano de obra para reparar la lavadora.

Cuando le pregunté por la falla, él me dijo que la lavadora no bota agua al llenarse, sino que comienza a botar agua cuando inicia el proceso de batir la ropa en la tina. Al escuchar el diagnóstico, le dije: “Eso no es mal de morirse; por lo que me cuentas, es el sello del agua que se dañó”.

Después me comentó que él había hablado con el novio de su hermana, y el señor le había comentado que necesitaba un técnico especializado, ya que se necesitaban llaves especiales y otras yerbas para desarmar la lavadora.

Yo, al escuchar a Rubén, simplemente me reí un poco; después le comenté que eso no era cierto, que la única llave especial que se necesita es una llave estrella para sacar una tuerca de la tina, pero que en dado caso de no tener la llave, se podía sacar de otra manera.

Lo cierto es que Rubén estaba muy angustiado, ya que debía irse de viaje y quería dejar a su hija, que vive sola con él en su apartamento, con todo listo y arreglado, mientras él iba a tocar su violín con la orquesta municipal en una gira por el interior del país.

Al final de su cuento le dijo: "Nada que hacer, hagamos el trabajo nosotros", y así se hizo efectivamente. Me puse a ayudarlo a desarmar y le expliqué que cuando él hacía un trabajo así solo, debía marcar todo como iba colocado y además tomar fotos para que en el momento de armar no tuviese dudas.

Y después de un rato desarmando, llegamos a donde estaba la bendita tuerca, y efectivamente se necesita una llave especial para trabajar en ese espacio, pero cuando vi la cara de angustia de mi amigo, le dije: "No te preocupes, esto se resuelve con una simple llave de tubo".

Pero cuando metí la llave, la misma era muy grande para el espacio donde debíamos trabajar, así que apliqué una solución definitiva: le corté una parte del mango con una segueta y después pudimos sacar la tuerca con toda tranquilidad.

El repuesto que fue el sello solo costó 6 dólares y, después de colocar el sello, dejé a Rubén armando la lavadora, y así, después de unas 4 horas, se resolvió el primer problema del día, cuando logramos vencer con maña a la bendita tuerca de la lavadora.

Today was a bit hectic for me; I was presented with several situations that I had to respond to, both inside and outside the house.

One of the events today occurred with a neighbor who called me to come down to his house as a matter of urgency, and his call was so distressing that I came down immediately. And when I got to his house I got my friend, a professional musician very distressed and trying to come to a financial agreement with a technician who was charging him $150 for his labor.

After a while, when Ruben finished talking and calmed down a little, I asked him what was wrong, and he told me that his daughter went to wash clothes and the washing machine started leaking water, and when he saw that he called several technicians and they were charging him between $80 and $150 for labor to repair the washing machine.

When I asked him about the fault, he told me that the washing machine does not leak water when it gets full, but it starts leaking water when it starts the process of whisking the clothes in the tub. When I heard the diagnosis, I said“ "That's not a bad thing about dying; from what you're telling me, it's the water seal that got damaged.”

Then he told me that he had talked to his sister's boyfriend, and the man had told him that he needed a specialized technician, since special keys and other herbs were needed to disassemble the washing machine.

When I listened to Rubén, I just laughed a little; then I told him that that wasn't true, that the only special key you need is a star key to get a nut out of the tub, but that in case you didn't have the key, you could get it out another way.

The truth is that Rubén was very distressed, since he had to go on a trip and wanted to leave his daughter, who lives alone with him in his apartment, with everything ready and arranged, while he was going to play his violin with the municipal orchestra on a tour of the interior of the country.

At the end of his story he told her: "Nothing to do, let's do the work ourselves," and so it was effectively done. I started to help him take it apart and explained that when he did a job like this alone, he had to mark everything as it was placed and also take photos so that at the time of putting it together he had no doubts.

And after a while disassembling, we arrived at where the blessed nut was, and indeed a special wrench is needed to work in that space, but when I saw the distressed face of my friend, I told him: "Don't worry, this is solved with a simple socket wrench".

But when I put the key in, it was too big for the space where we had to work, so I applied a definitive solution: I cut off a part of the handle with a mower and then we could take out the nut with all tranquility.

The replacement that was the seal only cost 6 dollars and, after placing the seal, I left Ruben assembling the washing machine, and so, after about 4 hours, the first problem of the day was solved, when we managed to overcome the blessed nut of the washing machine with skill.
