Hey guys! 🤩 Who else is immersed in the incredible world of Splinterlands like I am? 🃏 If you're new or just want a refresher, today I want to talk about something FUNDAMENTAL: the different tokens we use in the game! 🚀
Here's my quick guide to the currencies that drive our economy in Praetoria:
👑 Splintershards (SPS): The King (Governance Token)
It's the main token, the one that gives us voting power in the game's decisions (DAO).
I earn it by playing ranked matches and I can stake it to get rewards... and Vouchers!
My favorite use: Staking to increase my reward boost and get Vouchers!
💎 Dark Energy Crystals (DEC): Everyday Money
This is the gold of Splinterlands. We obtain it by winning ranked battles and it's the main currency for purchasing most things: potions, older card packs (like Chaos Legion), and for buying or renting cards on the internal market.
Note: Its value fluctuates, so sometimes it's worth holding on!
🎟️ Vouchers (VOUCHER): The Exclusive Pass
They're like VIP tickets. They're mainly obtained by staking SPS.
They're used to get discounts on new pack releases (like Riftwatchers) or to purchase exclusive items in the Voucher Store.
Tip: If you want new packs at a discount, you need Vouchers!
🪙 Credits (CREDITS): The Fixed Currency
They're the Soulbound (non-transferable) in-game currency and always have a fixed value: 1000 Credits = $1 USD.
I buy them with PayPal or crypto and use them to purchase the Spellbook, packs, potions, and cards from the market.
Ideal for: Players who prefer a stable value without worrying about the fluctuations of the crypto market.
🏅 Merits and ✨ Glint:
Merits: I earn them in Brawls (guild fights). I use them to purchase Gladius Cases (which contain Gladiator cards with the Bloodlust ability), perfect for leveling up my guild!
Glint: Earned in ranked battles or by burning Soulbound reward cards. It's the token used to purchase cards and items from the Reward Shop.
In short:
SPS: Governance and staking rewards.
DEC: Earned through playing, purchasing in the market, and the store ("money").
VOUCHER: Discounts and exclusive items (earned by staking SPS).
CREDITS: Fixed value, for direct fiat/crypto purchases.
