Why you no give am big man tailor?” Meaning that these trousers are costly and why didn’t he look for a well established tailor to mend his cloth for him instead of given it to him a roadside Hawking tailor. Unknown to him, these were cheap trousers from bend down and select (Road side markets). He was told by the young rich man to go ahead and try with one first. The young rich man needed to be sure he could do the job neatly. To his amusement the tailor boy did it and it came out great.

With the trust in him the young tailor went on to do the rest and even reduced the sleeve length of a jacket given to him. While he was at it, they both engaged in a conversation. He introduce his name as Muhammad, from Kano a young boy who is yet to be married because he doesn’t have money. They both introduce themselves and had a good discussion while he does his work . The conversion went on that it became as if they were old friends who reunited. This young rich man, happy with the conversation thought to himself what he could do to change the life of this tailor for good. He then ask why was he Hawking instead of settling in a shop since he can do a good job. The tailor boy responded by saying that renting a shop cost a lot of money in his area. The young rich man then ask what if he rent a shop for him, buy him another machine and materials would he b able to manage it and grow the business? He said yes, but added that he really wanted to own a provision store, not a tailoring shop. According to him, he once had one, but the business collapsed. Unknowingly to the tailor that this young rich man had proposed in his heart to help Change the life of this boy. Those who witnessed their discussion were excited for Muhammad because they knew his life was about to change. He wouldn’t be the first in a long list of people this young rich man have done this for. It’s his own way of doing giveaway. When the young tailor was done with the clothes, the young rich man gave him his phone number and asked him to call once he found a shop. He the went to my his car, brought out a bundle of N200 notes, counted N11,000 out of it, and gave it to him. But shockingly, instead of collecting it,the tarilor boy asked how much it was. He was told to count which he reluctantly did and after he was done with the counting, he was ask if it’s too small. Hmmm the young boy said yes. In his wards he said you are a boss, a big man and you are supposed to give me all the money. He wanted the whole N20,000. The young rich man was so disappointed because he had paid him more than he had earned and expected him to show appreciation. This was someone he had already concluded plans in his mind to spend millions of Naira to set him up in a better business. So, the issue was not that he didn’t pay him enough. The problem was that because he saw him as a “big man,” a Boss and was ready to exploit him.

Right there, the rich young man gave him the remaining N9000 but changed his mind to further help him . The young tailor ask if he should still look for a shop, but he was told there is no need to look for the shop anymore. The question now is Why do most people overcharge those they consider rich? When a person who sale product sees a rich man the price is always different compare to one they feel is not rich. A product of N5,000 can be sold to a rich man at N10,000. Let’s not allow greed to deny us of a blessings that will come our way or chase away our destiny helper.
