Hello viewers happy New month and happy independence day to Nigeria. My name is @ovipraise I welcome you to AFRITUNES week 186. My entry for this week is a cover song of Solomon Lange titled “New Nigeria” . This song is specially dedicated to my country Nigeria on her 65th anniversary of her independence. Recall that Nigeria got her independence on 1st October 1960. That day was a remarkable day for millions of Nigerian citizens as Green and white flag spread across the nations in jubilation for gaining freedom from colonial masters. This was to archived to bring together a nation, where the diverse and numerous ethnic nationalities would be bonded into a strong and powerful unit. But it’s unfortunate that today, that dream has been shattered, shredded by ethnic fault lines, mistrust, suspicion, scapegoating, and political tribalism. Nigeria has become a notion where love turns to hatred. The love that existed before is no longer there. We have become slaves to ourselves. A country now rule by banditry and herdsmen attack, full of corruption religious hatred. Nothing is simple for the common man and life has become hard for a everyone. Nothing seems to be getting better. The Nigeria of yesterday is become better than that of today what an irony. How ever There shall be a New Nigeria!” with faith and believe and as we bend our knees in prayers more for Nigeria, a new Nigeria is possible . I see it coming
Lyrics

I see a new Nigeria
