Nigeria will be great again
My name is Comrade Ovey Charles @Ovipraise . I am a Nigerian and on this day 1st October, 2025 I celebrate my country @65. Nigeria is a country bless with many resources. 65 years ago Nigeria gain her freedom from the colonial masters. It was a struggle Carried out by our heroes past.
On 1st October 1960, The flag Green-White-Green was seen spread across the land, and the heart of millions citizens sparked up with hopes . This was were it all began which signifies not merely the end of colonial rule but a new beginning for diverse peoples brought together to forge a shared destiny.
As we celebrate and commemorate this day, the reality is that a dream that was birthed for a nation becoming true country is far from realistic. The labour of our heroes past has been tarnished by religious, ethnicity, political and cultural differences. How did we get here? A nations that was born out of pure mind with a vision and mission only to be were it is today. It is Shame to see that citizens express that the colonial rule was better than the independent. This is not what our fathers fought for some with their life.
We are not longer free in our own land. Our agriculture is faced with challenges of banditry and herdsmen. We have become slaves to our own self. A common Nigerian will always think of himself first, his family before any other person.
We have become so selfish that credibility no longer counts. Today you get
an opportunity or employed not on the basis of merit but by who you know. Nigeria has become a country where the brilliant and intelligence once have become okada riders(motorcycle riders), street hawkers, petty traders while the unqualified are the once lecturing and teaching In the class room.
Will Nigeria be great again? Yes it will, the blood of our heroes past that was shed for the freedom will no go in vain. A generation is rising and I see it forthcoming. Nigeria will be better with me and you. I believe, do you believe.
