South Korea is a wonderful place I would really love to explore. If I were to visit South Korea, the first destination on my list would undoubtedly be Jeju Island. I became fascinated by this breathtaking island when I first watched the Korean drama Boys Over Flowers (I think I have written about this here), where the characters went on vacation there. Legend of the Blue Sea also had scenes of Jeju Island. I was captivated by how stunning they were; the lush landscapes, the crystal-clear waters, and the serene ambiance all made it feel like you are already in paradise here on earth. I feel Jeju Island seems to have everything in place that one could hope for in a getaway: firstly, the island has a natural beauty and tranquility; it would be a perfect escape from all the hustle and bustle of daily life. Jeju Island has a lot of majestic places, like the volcanic peaks and beaches. While I am there, I would make sure I get to experience the breathtaking sunrise view at Sunrise Peak (Seongsan Ilchulbong) and would make sure I take lots of pictures so that whenever I look at them, it would refresh my memories of the beautiful experience.
Yongin Dae Jang Geum Park is another place I would make sure to visit; it's a place where almost all the historical dramas are filmed. I love how the place accurately reflects the architectural designs and the culture of various periods of Korean history, which includes the Three Kingdoms, Goryeo, and Joseon dynasties. Visiting them and walking through replicated palaces, traditional villages, marketplaces, and fortresses would make me feel like I was in the past also and experience how it feels to be there. Since the park also has its royal costume room where visitors can try on the traditional hanbok and take photos on the sets, I sure won't miss that for I would also make sure I get dress on the hanbok, get to know how it feels. While exploring and admiring how beautiful the place is, who knows? Maybe I might even get lucky and catch a glimpse of a current drama they are acting in.
What is visiting Korea without visiting Seoul, the vibrant city? There are just too many places in Seoul to visit. I would like to experience what it feels like to walk and experience the street food market. I would also want to walk in those cherry blossoms. Seoul is just a beautiful place to be.
