Indeed, life on earth is temporary. Life's tragedy has a way of hitting us when we least expect it; it makes one question and wonder if all the hustling and bustling we go through daily is really worth it.
As humans, one of our goals is to strive for a fulfilling life, but the harsh reality is that things don't always go as planned. The fact that tomorrow is uncertain puts a heavy burden on our minds most times, and I feel because we don't know what will happen the next second of our lives, this should prompt us to cherish every moment.The loss of a loved one has a harsh way of reminding us that life is fleeting.
On Sunday, the 20th of April, my cousin passed on in a motor accident that was caused by kidnappers, and that left me with a lot of thoughts. Her death has caused a lot of pain in the hearts of those that loved her dearly; the pain is compounded by the fact that she had just started her new life. She got married on the 17th of February, and just like every newlywed, she was so excited and had a lot of plans for herself and her new family.
Everything seemed like the beginning of a beautiful journey for her, and the news of her pregnancy had brought so much joy. It's so sad and heartbreaking to think that she would never get to experience everything she dreamt of.
As humans, what we do most times In the face of such loss, we easily get caught up in grief and question the fairness of life. However, I feel this is also an opportunity for us to truly reflect on what matters. While we still have the chance, let's make the most of what we can of life, appreciate and love the people around us, and create meaningful and beautiful memories. I know life is unpredictable, but how we respond to it can define our legacy.
