Cruz orlada calada a mano / Cross edged hand-carved

[Español] Recién un cordial saludo comunidad, es mi primera publicación en esta comunidad, es un placer para mí compartir mis conocimientos a toda la comunidad DIY Hub. Hoy presento un proyecto que me fue encargado por un cliente hace un par de semanas, me solicitó hacerle una cruz orlada al que se dice tiene propiedades espirituales de protección, honestamente ignoraba el tema, pero el cliente me fue explicando lo que significa y que la quería para usarla como collar. Tuve que investigar buscando referencia sobre la figura y luego de hacer el boceto lo traslade a un trozo de madera de 3 milímetros, elaboré dos piezas, una grande y una pequeña, estos tutoriales no están por la red, mi granito de arena aportando cómo se hace. Espero sea de su agrado, todavía estoy aprendiendo mucho acerca de esta red social. [Esp] Una vez dibujado el patrón en el papel, lo fijo a la madera y comienzo a cortar con la cierra caladora o cierra de arco. Podemos empezar hacer el calado exterior que son tiene formas puntiagudas como un engranaje. La cierra caladora está compuesta por una hoja de hilo, una hoja de segueta de acero templado , en uno de los extremos tiene una mariposita, esta pieza sirve para ajustar el tensor del hilo o para retirarlo, se le abren unos agujeritos en el centro de la madera e introducimos el hilo de la caladora y luego volvemos a sujetarlo de la misma para poder cortar el centro. Debemos abrir un orificio en cada lugar que requiera ser calado. [Esp] Vamos cortando poco a poco con paciencia, el MDF puede ser muy sensible al corte y es necesario procurar los cortes queden lo más prolijo posible. La caladora no es muy peligrosa pero hay que ser muy cuidadoso con su uso, la hoja de corta puede romperse con facilidad, los movimientos deben ser rítmicos y suaves de arriba hacia abajo. [English version] > The MDF can be very sensitive to cutting and it is necessary to make sure the cuts are as neat as possible. > The jigsaw is not very dangerous but you must be very careful with its use, the blade can break easily, the movements must be rhythmic and smooth from top to bottom.

[Esp] Una vez calada la pieza se procede a lijar, el lijado es muy importante, quitamos los bordes imperfectos y redondeamos las esquinas, también ayuda a descubrir mejor la madera quedando un tono más natural. La lija 400 me ayuda a quitar el papel que he pegado con el molde para poder cortar, hay que tratar de no afincar mucho la lija para no quitar tanto la superficie y no dejar irregularidades. [English version] > Once the piece is fretworked we proceed to sanding, sanding is very important, we remove the imperfect edges and round the corners, it also helps to discover the wood better leaving a more natural tone. > The 400 grit sandpaper helps me to remove the paper that I have glued with the mold to be able to cut, try not to sharpen the sandpaper too much to not remove so much surface and not leave irregularities.

[Esp] Se abre un agujerito en la parte superior para poder introducir una argolla y pueda sujetarse en el collar. Barnizamos la pieza o pintamos a gusto del cliente, yo apliqué barniz de cada lado y dejé secar dos horas para aplicarle una capa más y luego de secar dos horas más se aplica la última capa que se deja secar hasta el siguiente día. Colocamos la argolla en el orificio y luego la cadena piel de serpiente. El trabajo está hecho. Para mí fue satisfactorio hacer este proyecto porque era algo nuevo para mí, es un trabajo algo sencillo, el cliente quedó satisfecho, yo había hecho otra pieza pero para experimentar y al mostrarla al cliente, quedó encantada y se ha llevado las dos piezas. Es muy grato ver la cara de satisfacción del cliente cuando el trabajo es hecho a su gusto. Doblemente satisfactorio haber tenido la oportunidad de presentar mi trabajo en esta comunidad. After two more hours of drying, the last coat is applied and left to dry until the next day. > We put the ring in the hole and then the snakeskin chain. The job is done. For me it was satisfying to do this project because it was something new for me, it is a somewhat simple work, the customer was satisfied, I had made another piece but to experiment and when I showed it to the customer, she was delighted and has taken both pieces. It is very pleasing to see the face of satisfaction of the client when the work is done to their liking. > It is doubly satisfying to have had the opportunity to present my work in this community.
