 Corrientes, a littoral province of Argentina, is where I come from, plains everywhere and no mountains. I always had the desire to know and in this three-day journey I will know something very similar to the mountains, such as the hills. The mountain [Champaqui](https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Champaqu%C3%AD) is the highest in the province of Córdoba and as a first experience it exceeds all expectations. >! Siempre tuve el deseo de conocer y en esta travesía de tres días conoceré algo muy parecido a las montañas, como son los cerros. El cerro [Champaqui](https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Champaqu%C3%AD) es el más alto de la provincia de Córdoba y como primera experiencia supero todas las expectativas. We've been paying for an excursion with @zutodoterreno for a while now and this long weekend in Argentina, it will happen. >! [SPANISH] Pero no lo haré solo y en la imágen que antecede solo están algunos de los participantes, ya que estabamos en Villa Alpina Córdoba, de donde partiríamos en esta primera etapa. Parte del grupo de ciclismo El Ciclón de Ezeiza y por supuesto mi compañera de vida @zutodoterreno.    In these places there are no internet signals and the energy is currently solar, but it is used only for basic needs. For this reason, I had to manage the charges of my cell phone very well, so that it would be enough for the whole trip. Luckily, a friend lent me a portable charger, which would serve me to make only one charge to my cell phone. Worse is nothing, says the popular saying. Before starting the journey we were told that everything we will see in the hills, such as houses under construction, shelters and others, were carried by [mules](https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mula_(animal)). We had to have a lot of respect for them and also be careful, since they go up and down, almost without asking permission. >! [SPANISH] En estos lugares no existe señales de internet y la energía en la actualidad es solar, pero se utiliza solamente para las necesidades básicas. Motivo por el cual debía administrar muy bien la carga de mi celular, para que me alcance en toda la travesía. Por suerte, un amigo, me presto un cargador portátil, que me serviría para realizar solamente una carga a mi celular. Peor es nada, dice el dicho popular. > >Antes de comenzar la travesía nos dijeron que todo lo que veremos en los cerros, como casas en construcción, refugios y demás, fueron llevados por [mulas](https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mula_(animal)). Debíamos tener mucho respeto por las mismas y también cuidado, ya que suben y bajan, casi sin pedir permiso.    It is often difficult to describe in words what you feel on these occasions. There are many emotions that you feel, as the hills make you feel the rigor. The whole group trained for this occasion, each one in his own style and within his possibilities. But I witnessed that they have walked enough to reach the finish line well. The first kilometers were really hard, since the change for us was a complete change. But as a team everything is possible and we were doing really well. At the first stop we made, Zuni got an incredible cramp. Everyone got nervous about the situation, except me. Knowing Zuni, I knew he would recover and if he didn't, he would still walk with his hands 😄. >! [SPANISH] Muchas veces es difícil describir con palabras lo que se siente en estas ocasiones. Son muchas emociones las que sientes, ya que los cerros, te hacen sentir el rigor. El grupo entero se entrenó para esta ocasión, cada uno a su estilo y dentro de sus posibilidades. Pero fui testigo que han caminado lo necesario para llegar bien a la meta. Los primeros kilómetros fueron realmente duros, puesto que el cambio para nosotros fue rotundo. Pero en equipo todo es posible y lo fuimos llevando muy bien realmente. En la primera parada que hicimos a Zuni, le agarro un calambre increíble. Todos se pusieron nervioso por la situación, menos yo. Conociéndolo a Zuni, sabía que se iba a reponer y si así no fuere, llegaría igualmente caminando con las manos 😄.    Something fundamental and that has been recommended to us, is to hire a guide and honestly it was the best decision we made as a group. Actually there were two guides, the first one led the team and the second one was behind everyone, both intercommunicated. They guide you through the best paths, knowing what we are novices, keeping the pace and the group all together at the same pace. Many of us could climb faster, but they made sure that the least prepared person set the pace. Another very important factor is that as they are locals and have studied for the occasion, they are telling us and narrating everything that happens at every moment. Stories of the trees, towns and cities that can be seen in the distance and of course hills with their own names and characteristics. In the images above, we were shown the [tabaquillo](https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polylepis_australis), which is a typical tree of the area and of course has its own particular beauty and attributes. >! [SPANISH] Algo fundamental y que nos han recomendado, es el tema de contratar a un guía y sinceramente fue la mejor decisión en grupo que hicimos. En realidad fueron dos guías, el primero lideraba al equipo y la segunda, iba atrás de todos, ambos intercomunicados. Ellos te van guiando por los mejores caminos, sabiendo de qué somos novatos, manteniendo el ritmo y el grupo todos juntos a la par. Muchos podíamos subir más rápido, pero ellos se encargaban de que el menos preparado, marcaba el ritmo. Otro factor importantísimo es que como son lugareños y han estudiado para la ocasión, nos van contando y narrando todo lo que acontece en cada momento. Historias de los árboles, pueblos y ciudades que se ven a lo lejos y por supuestos cerros con sus nombres y características propias. En las imágenes que anteceden, nos mostraron al [tabaquillo](https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polylepis_australis), que es un árbol típico de la zona y por supuesto tiene su belleza y atributos particular.     Arriving at the Moises Lopez booth was honestly very exhausting for everyone and even more so for us. The issue was the following: We were told that we could send part of the luggage with mules, which obviously had a cost. Zuni and I decided that we would carry all the luggage on our backs. That was the reason that when we arrived at the post, we were very exhausted. In the first stage we were all supposed to carry our lunch, but the guides surprised us with big milanesa sandwiches, so we didn't need to eat ours. All very nice, but the weight was still on our backpacks. After lunch, we went to the restroom, had some water and with our bellies full, we faced the last part of this first stage. >! [SPANISH] Llegar al puesto Moisés López fue sinceramente muy agotador para todos y más aún para nosotros. El tema fue el siguiente: Nos dijeron que podíamos enviar parte del equipaje con mulas, que obviamente tenían un costo. Zuni y yo, decidimos que llevaríamos todo el equipaje sobre nuestras espaldas. Ese fue el motivo de que cuando llegamos al puesto, estábamos muy agotados. En la primera etapa todos debíamos llevar nuestro almuerzo, pero los guías nos sorprendieron con grandes sanguches de milanesa, que no hizo falta comer lo nuestro. Todo muy lindo, pero el peso seguía en nuestras mochilas. Luego de almorzar, pasar al baño, cargar agua y con la panza llena encaramos la última parte, de esta primera etapa.    This is when you ask yourself what am I doing here 😄? Because when you go as a team and with guides, you don't manage the times and you must abide by all the decisions that are made. In particular, I would have liked to have a table talk, to digest what we had for lunch, but the orders were others and there we went. The jokes of the group disappeared and we all walked concentrated, longing for the refuge to appear once and for all. Of course, after a few kilometers, we were feeling a little better and again began to enjoy the natural beauties. As you can see, we had a wonderful day. >! [SPANISH] En este momento es cuando te preguntas ¿qué estoy haciendo acá 😄? Porque al ir en equipo y con guías, los tiempos no lo manejas y debes acatar todas las decisiones que se toman. En lo particular me hubiese gustado hacer una sobremesa, para digerir lo que habíamos almorzado, pero las órdenes fueron otras y allá fuimos. Ya los chistes del grupo desaparecieron y todos caminábamos concentrados, anhelando de que el refugio aparezca de una vez. Por supuesto, a los pocos kilómetros, ya nos sentíamos un poco mejor y nuevamente comenzamos a disfrutar de las bellezas naturales. Como verán nos tocó un día maravilloso.    When you begin to see the refuge, which by the way there were several of them, everything is joyful despite the fatigue you are carrying. Happy because we were arriving on time and in good shape, according to the guides. Zuni came with the last of his energy, but with a smile that showed his enjoyment for the adventure. We had a snack, shower, dinner and then to rest to start the next day very early. >! [SPANISH] Cuando comienzas a divisar al refugio, que por cierto eran varios, todo es alegría pese al cansancio que llevas. Felices porque estábamos llegando en tiempo y forma, según los guías. Zuni venía con lo último de energía, pero con una sonrisa que se notaba su disfrute por la aventura. Nos esperaba una merienda, ducha, cena y luego a descansar para arrancar al otro día bien temprano.   It is clear that we will continue trying to climb hills and why not mountains, but this first stage will remain in our memory for life. The first step in everything we do, marks us and of course makes us grow. One of the reflections that I take with me is that we are really an instant in the universe. When you see the magnitude of everything that surrounds us and that is there for millions of years, you feel that you are just a second in the whole universe. I invite everyone who made it this far, to fight for your dreams and try to know the goodness and wonders of our universe.
