En ocasiones hay que permitirse caminar por caminos que parecieran que nadie anda por ahí. Pueden ser complicados ingresar a los mismos, pero atreviéndote, todo sucede. Pasando por la localidad de Spegazzini, muy cerca de Ezeiza me atreví a meterme para ver qué podría encontrar y vaya que sucedieron cosas. >! [English] Sometimes you have to allow yourself to walk down paths that seem like no one else is walking down. They can be difficult to enter, but if you dare, anything can happen. Passing through the town of Spegazzini, very close to Ezeiza, I dared to venture in to see what I might find, and boy, did things happen. > ___    Camiones, tierra removida, mucho polvo en el aire y uno piensa. Tanto movimiento por aquí y parecía que no sucedía nada. En Ezeiza existe un polo industrial que es como una ciudad cerrada y lleno de empresas y también están las industrias externas a dicho polo y esta empresa, es una de esas. >! [English] Trucks, earth being moved, lots of dust in the air, and you think to yourself: so much activity around here, and it seemed like nothing was happening. In Ezeiza, there is an industrial park that is like a gated community full of companies, and there are also industries outside of that park, and this company is one of them. > > ___   Una **cantera** inmersa en la ciudad de Spegazzini. Seguramente generando mucha mano de obra y por supuesto, piedras para el mundo. Montones de piedras apiladas prolijamente y descansando como si estuvieran tomando sol. No saben todavía en qué se van a convertir. Quizás terminen formando parte de una ruta que cruzaremos un día sin siquiera pensarlo. O tal vez, en una vereda donde un nene juega a la rayuela, quién sabe … ¿Conoces el juego La Rayuela? Si no lo conoces ... Ufff, lo que te perdiste 😁. >! [English] A **quarry** immersed in the city of Spegazzini. Surely generating a lot of labor and, of course, stones for the world. Piles of stones neatly stacked and resting as if they were sunbathing. They don't know yet what they will become. Perhaps they will end up forming part of a road that we will cross one day without even thinking about it. Or maybe, on a sidewalk where a child plays hopscotch, who knows... Ufff, what you're missing out on. > > ___ ||| |-|-| |||       La cantera es como ese primer capítulo de un libro o quizás de una serie que no conocemos. Siento que ahí empieza todo. El ruido peculiar de las máquinas rompiendo, que parecen a un león enfurecido. El olor a trabajo y polvo que se pega en la ropa. Después, esas piedras emprenden su viaje y pasando de mano en mano, de máquina en máquina hasta que un día se vuelve en parte del paisaje de otro lugar. ¡Qué locura no! >! [English] The quarry is like the first chapter of a book or perhaps a series we don't know. I feel like that's where it all begins. The peculiar noise of the machines breaking, which sound like an enraged lion. The smell of work and dust that sticks to your clothes. Then, those stones begin their journey, passing from hand to hand, from machine to machine, until one day they become part of the landscape of another place. How crazy is that! > > ___   Me gusta pensar que cada piedra es una especie de viajero anónimo en el mundo. No tiene pasaporte, pero sí mucha historia. Sale de Spegazzini sin mirar atrás y si va transformando, cambiando de forma, de color y hasta de función. Algunas, quizás, queden para siempre en un rincón olvidado y otras, quién sabe, sostendrán el paso de miles de personas todos los días. >! [English] I like to think that each stone is a sort of anonymous traveler in the world. It doesn’t have a passport, but it carries a lot of history. It leaves Spegazzini without looking back, slowly transforming—changing its shape, its color, and even its purpose.Some may end up forgotten forever in a quiet corner, while others, who knows, might bear the footsteps of thousands of people every single day. > > ___    Lo loco de todo esto y cuando digo loco me refiero a *increíble*, es que al igual que esas piedras, nosotros también vamos viajando y transformándonos. A veces sentimos que estamos quietos en la vida, pero en realidad, nos estamos moldeando a través de las experiencias, a través de personas y también de lugares que recorremos. Con esta reflexión quiero invitarte a que la próxima vez que pase por una cantera, piensa en las transformaciones que suceden con estos materiales (caminos, casas, puentes o quizás una vereda en Nueva York) y también en las transformaciones que nos suceden cotidianamente. >! [English] The crazy thing about all this—and when I say crazy, I mean incredible—is that, just like those stones, we too are traveling and transforming. Sometimes we feel like we’re standing still in life, but in reality, we’re being shaped by experiences, by people, and also by the places we visit.
