[English] A friend of mine always used to say that when the morning starts with fog, it means the day will be amazing, wonderful — and it’s always been true. Early in the morning, on National Route 205, waiting for my buddies to start a trip and a training session all at once. > > ___ |||| |-|-|-| ||||       Damián, nunca fue a Udaondo y por supuesto es nuestra obligación hacerle conocer. Pero antes debíamos pasar por la fortuna, que como podrán ver la están poniendo bonita, a este almacén que data del año 1800 aproximadamente. Una de las imágenes es de la parte de atrás del almacén y estimo que ahí es donde en el futuro vamos a quedarnos a compartir algo con los amigos del deporte. >! [English] Damián had never been to Udaondo, so of course, it was our duty to show him around. But first, we had to stop by La Fortuna, which, as you can see, they’re fixing up nicely — this store dates back to around the year 1800. Of course, only what can actually be shared — because, as you know, cycling is like group therapy among friends, and that’s where some of the most interesting conversations you could imagine happen… and some stay right there. What happens in those moments definitely stays there. > > ___ ||| |-|-| |||       Llegamos al almacén de udaondo y no estaba el señor que siempre no se atiende, porque normalmente él nos hace pasar a su casa y podemos disfrutar de algo rico cubierto del clima. En esta ocasión estaba una señorita que nos atendió, y no nos quedó otra que ir a la plaza y compartir un rico sándwich con algunos mates. Siempre en todas las plazas de los pueblos aparece el fiel amigo del hombre. Algún perro de la calle siempre nos espera y nos da la bienvenida y por supuesto con la intención de que compartamos algo con él. >! [English] We arrived at the Udaondo store, but the gentleman who usually serves us wasn’t there. Normally, he invites us into his home so we can enjoy something tasty while staying sheltered from the weather. This time, there was a young lady attending, so we had no choice but to head to the town square and share a delicious sandwich with some mate. In every small-town square, the faithful friend of man always shows up. There’s always a stray dog waiting to greet us — and of course, hoping we’ll share a little something with him. > > ___  Algo que me sucedió extrañamente en este viaje fue, que cuando llegamos a la fortuna me saqué un guante que me estaba haciendo transpirar demasiado las manos. Y de la fortuna hasta Udaondo, es como que bajó la temperatura y mis manos se congelaron. Al punto que se pusieron blanca y no podía cobrar temperatura en la misma. Me asusté un poco e invité a mis amigos a volver y como lo tenía previsto, mientras transcurrían las horas de pedaleo el cuerpo volvió a tomar temperatura y al llegar nuevamente por la fortuna, ya estaba al 100%. En ese momento el sol se dignó a aparecer y acompañar nuestro viaje de regreso. Mi amigo tenía razón con referencia a la niebla, pero no me dijo que aparecería alrededor del mediodía 😃. >! [English] Something strange happened to me on this trip. When we got to La Fortuna, I took off one of my gloves because my hands were sweating too much. From La Fortuna to Udaondo, the temperature seemed to drop, and my hands froze. They got so cold that they turned white, and I couldn’t get them warm again. I got a little worried and suggested to my friends that we head back. As I had guessed, after a few more hours of riding, my body warmed up again, and by the time we got back to La Fortuna, I was at 100% again. That’s when the sun finally decided to show up and join us for the ride home. My friend was right about the fog — but he didn’t tell me it would show up around noon. 😃 > > ___   De regreso pasamos por un molino que con Alejandro siempre tomamos agua de ahí, pero queríamos hacerle, sentir la experiencia también al amigo Damián. Nos enteramos de que cambiaron el sistema y ahora pusieron un bombeador sumergible. Es decir, que está bajo tierra e igualmente nos ingeniamos para llegar a la pileta y suministrarnos de un poco de agua. El camino para mí ya era conocido, pero las experiencias climáticas y con los amigos, siempre son únicas e inolvidables. Es por eso que te invito, a que nunca dejes de ir en travesías a lugares donde ya conoces, porque las experiencias siempre son diferentes. Hoy tocó Udaondo con el amigo Damián y quizás la semana que viene iremos con otras personas y así hacemos camino al andar. >! [English] On the way back, we passed by a windmill where Alejandro and I always stop for water, but this time we wanted our friend Damián to experience it too. We found out they had changed the system and now installed a submersible pump — meaning it’s underground. Even so, we managed to get to the tank and help ourselves to some water. The road was already familiar to me, but the weather conditions and the time with friends always make each trip unique and unforgettable. That’s why I invite you to never stop going on adventures to places you already know — because the experiences are always different. Today, it was Udaondo with my friend Damián.
