Hi Hive Learners!
Today I have decided to join the week's activity.
I know that it is a cliché when I say health is wealth, or when I say where there is life, there is hope. It is only somebody who has been in the position of being on the hospital bed that will say that indeed health is wealth.
Now here is the twist: some people believe that once you do not have headaches, muscle pain, malaria, or typhoid, then you are okay. They believe that health is only limited to the physical. The question is, where have you placed your mental health?
The World Health Organization defines health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. From this definition, one can see that mental health is crucial, or let me say important. You cannot settle for one and leave the other. It is a prerequisite to take care of one's health.
I heard someone say these words: that ever since he was born, he has never visited the hospital. I want to make sure that you understand that not going to the hospital is not a sign of good health. At the same time, one should try to check his or her health through regular check-ups.
Medical doctors would run different medical checks or laboratory tests to ensure that you have all the balances that you need within your body system.
Let me use myself as a case study. I used to limit the amount of food that I eat to once a day, and this affected my health. I often experienced seizures, pain, weakness, and frequent tiredness. What I was reading was not well assimilated by me. In fact, I had a constant headache. Also, I could not assimilate what I was reading. I collapsed after some time.
We are in this era of management, where some families would manage food, money, and energy but fail to manage their health. I thought I was being a minimalist, but that one is to the extreme. You should not be a minimalist with your health.
Glucose is something that the brain needs, and if you have read from physiology, the brain is the next organ after the liver that uses quite an enormous amount of energy. Starving the brain will affect one's mental health, leading to migraines, fatigue, nausea, and even tiredness.
This reminds me of my conversation with my friend who is a nurse in Abeokuta. She told me that those people you call mad or abnormal are only mentally disordered. They don't refer to them as being mad. For many of them, it is the exposure to cannabinoids and many others that affects their well-being.
Some of the mentally disordered patients are consumers of hard drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, and codeine. Some of them consume what we refer to as Colorado. Colorado contains more tetrahydrocannabinol than marijuana. From my experience, I have seen people who have died using Colorado. During my research as a basic medical scientist on THC, I found that its excessive intake leads to continuous abortion.
It reduces weight gain and affects the hippocampus, cerebellum, liver, and placenta. There have been numerous reports about the abnormal behavior of people who take hard drugs. The major target is the liver and the endocannabinoid system.
I have witnessed the following amongst people who consume hard drugs: 1. Deaths 2. Pain 3. Loss of properties 4. Emotional imbalance 5. Fear and anxiety
And many more. I believe video clues from other platforms will do.
All this will change when we decide to take issues pertaining to our health more seriously.
I am a minimalist, but minimalism is not affecting your health and care. It is preventing excessive consumption of certain things while preventing wastage.
