Hi bloggers 👋, today I'm going to share my experience visiting a museum that houses a collection of historical artifacts. It's also a place to learn about the culture and history of Museum Negeri Sumatera Utara (North Sumatra Provincial Museum) that founded on April 19, 1982, the museum has two floors. It contains many cultural artifacts from prehistoric times, including statues and replicas depicting past lifestyles. As a multi-ethnic region, Sumatera Utara Province has a rich historical heritage.
As an educational facility for all, the entrance fee is affordable: It costs 5,000 rupiah ($0.30) for adults and 30,000 rupiah ($1.80) for foreign tourists.
The museum is quite beautiful and peaceful. When entering, visitors are asked to fill out a guest book and scan the barcode on their ticket. Once inside the museum, visitors learn about the history of Sumatera Utara Province and the Museum Negeri Sumatera Utara.
To the right of the main lobby is a room dedicated to ancient religions in Sumatera Utara. Ancient Sumatera Utara believed in gods and were influenced by megalithic culture. As a result, many relics in the form of stones and wood were considered sacred during that time. The highlight among these historical relics is a stunningly carved coffin from the Nias tribe. What a beautiful art!
In addition to the Nias tribe, there are also many relics from the Batak Toba tribe, the Pakpak tribe, and other tribes. Interestingly, the distinctive carvings of each tribe have their own meanings.
The museum also has inscriptions, tombstones, and replicas of statues from the time when religions such as Buddhism and Islam entered Sumatera Utara.

The people of Sumatera Utara have produced these natural products since ancient times, including cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper, white pepper, cloves, and tobacco. North Sumatra's tobacco was considered one of the best tobaccos of its time.
Sumatera Utara Museum is also have some to several miniature traditional houses. These miniature houses depict the livelihoods of the community in ancient times.
And this museum also has a replica of the past life of the community in survival.
