Dan Brown nos relata toda una encrucijada trepidante de códigos y mensajes escondidos que guían a los personajes hacia un documento de gran importancia, pero al mismo tiempo nos da la acción y el suspenso al involucrar a un grupo que también tiene un particular interés en ese documento, es aquí donde entra el Opus Dei con sus estrategias y planes diseñados para evitar que salga a la luz aquello que puede destruir los cimientos de su organización, ya que el contenido pudiera estar relacionado con la verdadera historia de Jesucristo, y lo más impactante es que están dispuestos a pagar cualquier precio por evitarlo. Y cuando digo “cualquier precio”, debemos imaginar lo peor.

No puedo dejar de hablar de los personajes de la historia. Robert Langdon es un personaje plano, de eso no cabe duda, no muestra grandes emociones, pero sí demuestra su inteligencia, sabiduría y experiencia a la hora de resolver anagramas y mensajes cifrados, es una enciclopedia andante y eso me encanta. Sophie, por otro lado, es una mujer con una seguridad en sí misma admirable, y aunque en principio se muestra como una nieta que busca explicar las extrañas circunstancias en que se dio la muerte de su abuelo, con el avanzar de la trama se descubrirá la importancia de su papel en la historia, ella misma tendrá que descubrir datos sobre su familia que nunca imaginó; ella es la emoción de la historia, los sentimientos a flor de piel, el perfecto complemento para Robert Langdon.
>I can't stop talking about the characters of the story. Robert Langdon is a flat character, there is no doubt about that, he does not show great emotions, but he does show his intelligence, wisdom and experience when it comes to solving anagrams and encrypted messages, he is a walking encyclopedia and I love that. Sophie, on the other hand, is a woman with an admirable self-confidence, and although at first she is shown as a granddaughter who seeks to explain the strange circumstances in which the death of her grandfather occurred, with the advancement of the plot will discover the importance of her role in history, she herself will have to discover information about her family that she never imagined; she is the emotion of the story, the feelings to the surface, the perfect complement to Robert Langdon.
Es un libro muy entretenido y emocionante puesto que encontramos acción desde el inicio y va in crescendo cuando vemos a Sophie y a Robert yendo de un lado a otro, con la policía pisándoles los talones por razones y con el Opus Dei intentando evitar que ellos lleguen a la verdad. Cada bando participa en la persecución, toman ventaja, se ponen obstáculos y logran salir airosos de momentos, así que la tensión y la ansiedad son reacciones totalmente normales durante la lectura. Es una novela contemporánea con escenarios reales, Dan permite al lector conocer lugares de París, Londres y Edimburgo. Las descripciones son detalladas e inmersivas, te imaginas las iglesias, las capillas, los pasajes en el museo del Louvre y las carreteras parisinas. >It is a very entertaining and exciting book as we find action from the start and it builds in crescendo as we see Sophie and Robert going back and forth, with the police hot on their heels for reasons and Opus Dei trying to prevent them from getting to the truth. Each side participates in the chase, takes advantage, gets in each other's way, and manages to get away with it at times, so tension and anxiety are totally normal reactions during the reading. It is a contemporary novel with real settings, Dan allows the reader to experience places in Paris, London and Edinburgh. The descriptions are detailed and immersive, you imagine the churches, the chapels, the passages in the Louvre museum and the Parisian roads. And you, have you read any of St. Brown's books?
