...and my wife's shadow waved a hello to all Hiveans.
I cannot walk far anymore, and my zoom does all of the walking lately.
When one goes behind that line of trees at the font of the mountains, as we have done many times, then a full close up of the mountain range views appears as if by magic. This day we could not get there, so I sent my zoom on an errand to give you a closer look at the mountain peaks. A few dogs came up to greet us while we were standing here, but I didn't want to offend the owners as they were too far away for me to ask permission to take photos of the dogs.
Early this morning we were in our car on the way somewhere, and the mountains sent me a signal to come and visit them a bit later in the day. Well, it turned out that we visited during the afternoon, and I got some fabulous views to show you. I love to see when there are cross winds on the mountain tops, as it seems to be a battle between two winds for supremacy. But I will not say too much and come and look at the pictures.
This below was the early morning signal.
And here below I started to take shots of the mountain peaks. You can see how the two winds from opposite directions meet together on this peak.
A flight of some Sacred Ibises appeared.
Look how the tree gives character to the picture with the mountains in the background.
And finally, this and the picture above showed how strong the wind drove the clouds across the mountain faces until it met up with the opposite wind.
We have viewed those peaks many times over the years and still find them fascinating. A human climbing on those peaks will be the size of an ant, which leads me to tell you that I have never seen anyone climbing those peaks. On occasion, some paragliders fly over very close to the peaks and I have posted some before. But that was during summer, and we are now in the early days of spring.
Planes and helicopters, at times, also fly close to the peaks and we have seen a pilot doing acrobatics above the mountains in his plane, flying high up and diving straight down to make a turn very close to the peaks. The birds that you saw, in here, also come flying in great numbers very low over the mountains in a V-formation, but that is also during summer. So, we shall wait for summer to arrive, as then the real action will start. I think you can see the reason why we love those mountains. Such is life.
