Today I volunteered at Des Connor Junior parkrun conducted on the sports fields of a Brisbane private school, Marist Brothers College located in the suburb of Ashgrove. Junior parkrun is a 2k course restricted to children aged between 4 and 14 years old with strict parkrun policies for volunteers to ensure the safety for the children. Today I performed the role of finish token support and was not under pressure as only 141 children attended. In February this year Des Connor Junior parkrun, broke the world record for participation held by Bushy parkrun in London with 438 finishers. Thats pressure with a funnel setup based on Bushy adult parkrun of 3 long funnels and quickly handing tokens to the Finish Tokens volunteer ensuring not to drop the string of tokens
