Todays parkrun adventure was to one of Australia’s unique parkruns, North Harbour, Burpengary just over 30 minutes north of Brisbane. Unique, in that the majority of the course is in a cow paddock, with roaming cattle and a very rough, uneven surface caused by cattle walking the parkrun course when wet and after drying out their hoof prints are like “craters” and dodging the hundreds of sometimes moist, smelly “pats”. I mentioned in my first timer brief that the challenge for first timers is to complete the course with clean shoes. 🤣 Upon arrive the glorious sunrise and the fog lifting from the lake and nearby low areas appeared similar to a geo-thermal area of NZ. The surface was so rough today, I fell 3 times which was very embarrassing given that I have only had 2 falls during my previous 414 parkruns
