Namaste 🙏

Hope you all are doing great!

Today I’m gonna take you guys on an adventure to a hidden and less touristy place near Nainital. It’s a place which is also known for Kayaking adventures on the deepest lake around this region.

We started from Nainital and we stared looking for bike rental options near this area. It was going to be adventurous as there was predictable rains coming up later that day but still we insisted on getting a two wheeler.

Just walking by the market near Nainital Jama Masjid, we were hoping to get a two wheeler. Getting a two wheeler is the best option you can opt to while exploring the hilly areas of Himalayas. Not only it makes you commute faster but also it makes you feel the real vibe of the place as you are open and exposed unlike you would be in a car.

Finally we found a person in the market who was renting two wheelers such as bikes, scooters etc. We decided to go for a Scooty as it is economical both for renting and driving around. You have to pay for fuel yourselves and the rent for Scooty was 500 Rs per day.

IMG_1146.jpeg

We were told that the Scooty had only enough fuel just to reach to the petrol station that was a couple kms away from our starting point and we needed to refill once we reached there. I estimated that just 300 Rs of fuel will be more than sufficient for us to explore the area and get the best of the best experience.

We started our journey at around 10:30 AM in the morning and we were estimating about an hour of drive up to the Naukuchital Lake which was about 30 kms away.

We reached the petrol station in 10 mins and there were some other people waiting for the refuel. We aligned ourselves in the queue and got the fuel refilled. We also got rain coats and waterproof rain covers for the bags we had just to make sure we were on safer side. It started drizzling as soon as we got out of the petrol station but we still had a really long way to go. At that time we decided to put on our rain coats and keep our electronics inside and kept going. Because of that drizzle, I was not able to capture the views around the road and luckily the rain stopped just in time when we reached at the lake.

Naukuchiatal Lake-

As soon as we reached there, we saw that it was mesmerising. It was as good as I imagined it to be. To top it up, it was very calm and peaceful there and there were very less tourists there as compared to other mainstream lakes like Bhimtal and Nainital.

IMG_1154.jpeg

As already mentioned, this lake was famous for the Kayaking adventures. This is the only lake in the neighbourhood of Nainital in which this adventures is being done. There were other big boats as well on the side but mostly there were Kayaks.

IMG_1155.jpeg

You could have a kayak for yourself just for 200 Rs per hour which is very nice and cheap considering the views and the experience you get once you reach there.

Before doing kayaking, we decided to walk and observe the weather and also the vibe of this place. We didn’t wanted it to rain while we were kayaking and we also didn’t wanna risk our lives so we decided to observe first.

IMG_1159.jpeg

We sat on the side of the lake and enjoyed the mesmerising views that this place has to offer. Some ducks also came near to us and we couldn’t resist but take photos of them.

The weather was clearing out and we decided to go for it after observation of about 15 mins. It was going to be real fun and we were super exited to do that.

Stay tuned for the next blog in which I take you guys with me for this adventure.

That’s all for today.

Thanks for passing by.

Peace ☮️
