Namaste 🙏
I hope you all are doing great!
I was not able to write for a week because I was busy in a trip. This time I went to Uttarakhand state of India. Specifically, Nainital region of Uttarakhand and upcoming blogs, I will be writing about my experience of being there and travelling around the remote places in this region of the Himalayas.
Starting of the Journey—
Sudha generally started when I boarded the bus to Nainital from Gurgaon at first. I didn’t knew that to a place a couple hours before Nainital. I got to know this when I boarded the bus and assistant there, told us to get off at Haldwani from where a taxi would come and pick us up.
It was a sleeper bus and I slept peacefully during my overnight journey to Haldwani, it was a rainy day and little droplets of rain were accumulated on my window as soon as I woke up. Just after half an hour of waking up, we reach our destination from where we would now board onto a taxi which would take us to Nainital.
We were a group of six people who boarded the seven seater Taxi along with me. They were people from Rajasthan state of India, who were also visiting Nainital and we listen to some old Bollywood songs while travelling to Nainital in Taxi.
It was a cozy rainy day, and this was a perfect vibe to enjoy some old Bollywood retro songs. After an hour of travelling on the hilly regions of Uttarakhand, we need to stop to have our breakfast and we stopped at this little restaurant on our way.
This was a cute little restaurant where we had tea and Parathas for breakfast. It was a perfect breakfast for a rainy day, although we were enjoying our journey, but it was also worrying me to start my trip in rain.
I looked at the weather forecast for the day, and it was saying that the rain would gradually decreased as the day passed, and they would not be any rain during the evening time, so I planned my day accordingly and decided to go out in the evening time and hunt for my hotel or stay during the morning time, where I could change my clothes And get ready to explore the town during the non-rainy hours of the evening .
The road that we travelled was quite narrow for a highway, but this was all we got, and I was really thankful that they were no landslides and at least the road was open. They were big trucks passing by an it was a good sign that everything was open.
The total altitude gain towards the Nainital from Haldwani was about 1500 m and that was quite significant. I was feeling the change in elevation with every turn, and now after one and a half hour of driving, we were quite high above the sea level as the vegetation changed dramatically, and we were now in between the pine trees.
The weather also was getting very dramatic with each passing term and it was really beautiful seeing the clouds close in the mountain ranges. It felt like we were going above clouds and it was a feeling that I was having for from a really long time.
Reaching Nainital —
Due to rain and bad weather, it took us longer than expected time to reach Nainital, so we reached around midday and it was raining heavily. There the lake was looking really dramatic and as soon as I stepped out of my car, I was really stunt to see the view that was right in front of me.
I took out my raincoat and worry, deliberately before moving near to the lake after the boarding from the Taxi. I looked around the town to witness the beautiful lake that was right in front of me now, the next task that I had was to find a room for me to stay and afterwards come out to explore the town.
I will be telling you about my journey ahead in the next blog, in which I find a place to stay and explore the town with unlimited fun and adventure.
Thanks for passing by.
Peace ☮️
