Namaste 🙏
Hope you all are doing great!!!
So after the best lunch, I could ever had, it was time for us to get onto this cable car to get to the Manakamana Devi temple. This temple is famous for the Manakamana Devi who is the goddess who makes wishes come true. That’s the literal meaning of Manakamana Devi.
And indeed, it was a dream, come true moment for me when I set on this cable car. I always dream of sitting in a really long cable car when I was a kid. The longest one I travelled in as a kid was about hundred or 150 m long. I was so mesmerised by sitting on this mode of transportation that I was kind of obsessed with it.
It was indeed a really special moment for me as here. This time I was travelling with my grandparents in this Cabel car, which is the longest in the country.
As I already mentioned in my previous clock that we had our lunch quite fast, and we were one of the first ones to get inside to catch the cable cards, so as you can see in the photographs below the hall, where the people come to board the cable, car were kind of empty.
From entering the cable car station to sitting on the car itself, hardly took us around a couple of minutes, and that also included our checking at the gate. We all were really happy as soon as we sat inside of the cable car.
Now let me tell you some facts regarding this cable car. This cable car is about 3 km long and it elevates to about 1300 m above sea level. It completes the road distance about 5 km to 6 km in just 15 minutes.
It’s really a great accomplishment to build a cable car here in the early 2000. People of all walks of life have taken advantage of this cable car and because of this this temple has become one of the most prominent tourist spots in whole of the Nepal.
As we were gaining height, the cable cars were slowly moving, and that made us very a little bit, but the cable car gradually slowed itself as the wind blew and came back to the normal speed as everything was normal, so we were now convinced that nothing is gonna happen, and we would reach our destination safely.
The views from up there were just mesmerising. It felt like we were travelling on a helicopter, not in cable car at a certain point while we were midway, it gradually increased elevation so much that we felt like we are taking off vertically, although the speed of this Keval car was just about 25 to 30 km/h, but as we were Gaining elevation quite fast, and the car was open, so it felt like we were just taking off ….!!!
My grandparents were really happy to travel in this cable car. After 15 minutes, we reached our destination and we were really looking forward to visit the Manakamana Devi temple now.
I carefully helped my grandparents to get off of the cable car and we started moving towards the temple. Our guides already told us that it would take us around 15 to 20 minutes of walking to reach to the temple as it was little bit further from the drop point of the cable car.
We were really amazed to see such a big village up there in the mountain, where there was no Road until a few years back. This cable car has literally been a boon to the people living in this area. And not just only to the people living in this area. This cable car is serving whole of humanity and helping people reach this temple where the wishes come true in just no time.
Another thing that I really liked about this cable car was, it was really well managed by the people and they were dedicatedly two different lines for the people who were coming and going as you can see the photograph below.
The staff was highly professional, and they helped everyone to get on the cable car safely, and they guided everyone about the precautions that we had to take while travelling on the cable car.
This is the kind of experience that I live for. I’m gonna remember this throughout my life, and this has been really special to me. I will be continuing my journey from here in next blog.
That’s all for today.
Peace ☮️
